Has anybody had to deal with an axle shaft the seems to be completely frozen in the hub? If so, how did you finally get it out?

Mike

Mine were pretty tight, but was able to get it out by putting pressure on it with a gear puller and then whacking it with a hammer.

I was using a big 3 jaw puller, but I didn't use a hammer. Where did you hit it?

If you use a hammer, use a 2-4lb brass hammer. If you use a steel hammer you'll bugger the threads.

Use an air hammer. I just had to do the same thing on my 05 over the weekend. Hammers wouldn't budge them and the air hammer was the only thing that worked.

Thanks for this. I put as much pressure as I could on it with a 3 jaw puller, and then gave the hub a few whacks with my mini sledge. I thought it didn't work until I went to take the puller off and found it was loose. When I tightened it up again, the axle began to move

Now on to the left side.

Mike
