I have some washers I wanted to use as front clevis spacers, and these are 6mm each. The TJM lift is meant to give me 30mm to 40mm in the front (over stock). The TJM spring is rated at 460, and also includes a 5 mm and 10 mm spacer that go just below the spring. I was going to use 12mm clevis spacers on each side for the front, which should give me about 18mm to 20mm total lift. This should net me around 50mm to 60mm total lift in the front. I was also contemplating whether I should use the small 5mm TJM spacer, but worried it might be too high and cause issues with the stock UCA (brand new). What do you think ? |

A 12mm clevis spacer should work. I wouldnt go any more than that. You could also add a top plate for a little more lift. I know nothing about a TJM lift so I cant say how well it will all work together. |

After looking at the clevis space, I might not be able to fit 2 washers, as there won't be much holding the strut. Instead I might have to go with a single 6mm washer, and maybe even a top plate. I was advised I can't go too high with stock control arms as alignment will be affected. |

Beware of those stock arms. I know people say that you can use them with a 2-3" lift, so I used new stock a-arms, with zero clevis, or top plate, and the angle on the arms keeps the rubber boot compressed at all times. It was squished so tight, that within a month the rubber had started to crack, and it was leaking grease within a year. They ride great, and I've ran them hard offroad, but JBA A-arms are definitely in my near future. Between the alignment and everything I'm out $150 + my labor and getting the jeep to the shop for an alignment. This was with an OME HD lift (2-5"?) |

Ok, I completed the front and I am 55cm from middle of wheel to arch. This will settle at least 1cm I am sure once I have taken it for a drive. I heard stock is about 48.3 cm. Front Springs http://www.tjm.com.au/en-oceania/produc ... &series=66 Rear Springs http://www.tjm.com.au/en-oceania/produc ... &series=66 Front Shock http://www.tjm.com.au/en-oceania/produc ... &series=66 Rear Shock http://www.tjm.com.au/en-oceania/produc ... &series=66 I am not too concerned about UCA, as I will be buying JBA in year or two, once the existing stock wears out. However is 55cm safe for the CV ? Should wheel alignment be OK ? Kj75 |

You will know quickly if your differential intermediate shaft and bushings as well as the female splines of the driveshaft are worn. If you notice a growling or howl, take a look at them with the jeep sitting on the ground. Grab and shake at the point the cv's mate with the diff. I installed an OME 1.5 and immediately had noise and had to re-bush and replace the seals on the front diff as well as new passenger cv and intermediate shaft. Alignment, Yes. You'll need and alignment. Mine was 1/2" toed in after a 1.5" lift. I'm pretty sure you'll need an alignment. |

I put my LCA's back to where they were (wear marks), and it was still a scary drive to the alignment shop. Trailer it if you have one handy is better, as driving over 35 or so may be unsafe. Depending on how far it is and the roads of course, and how bad the alignment winds up. |

If you lift it, it defiantly needs to be re-aligned as a lift changes the camber and the toe settings... Without an alignment, the changes in toe and camber with a lift will make it handle oddly and cause the front tires to wear out very quickly.... |

Sorry, in terms of alignment, I meant will they align it OK. I was told, without JBA arms, they will not align correctly. |

The 3" lift aligns ok with stock arms, mine rides great. The taller lifts are where you have to upgrade the arms. I still don't like the angle of the upper ball joint though. |

Removed the clevis lift as the front was higher and now the front and rear are balanced. I also checked the CV joints and I there is the slightest movement, so I am sure I will need to replace these in the near future. Does the JBA UCA help with CV angles ? |
