Howdy folks, I have an '06 CRD LTD that got to 125K of highway and some advanced off road use before the front prop shaft CV joints gave out, so I guess I'm doing OK. It's at 126.5K now, and I love this little beastie, but yesterday as I was leaving work with the window down, I heard what sounded like the compressor dumping its charge, coming from under the jeep and this coincided with a loss of power. It wasn't in limp mode, it just didn't have any guts, but it got me home. So this morning when I was trying to get my kid to soccer, the thing practically gave us whiplash with the surging, and this was at a constant throttle input. I've been driving with the MAS unplugged up until I got home yesterday, and wondered if that needed to be plugged back in for a while, so I did that before trying to drive it this morning. Momma to the rescue for saving soccer, but ...any ideas where to look on the Liberty? Should I be checking for a leaky turbo hose, or is there a boost control dump valve that's opening?
Thanks for any input, hood is up so the engine can cool down.

I'd look for a split hose; there's no blowoff valve on these.

Pull both CAC hoses off and check for tears, splits, soggy with oil, etc. If bad get idParts replacements. While in there a) check airbox to turbo hose for tear on bottom opposite CCV hose input and b) turbo impeller for movement (should be no more than slight fore/aft and barely perceptible side to side.

Thanks Joe, that was it: a torn intercooler hose! It was easy to get at, and while I'm at it, I guess I'll just take out the EGR and install the bypass kit since I won't have the hose until Tuesday night. Cheers!
