Does anyone know where I could rent timing belt tools for crd at a reasonable price.
or anyone have a set to sell or rent reasonable. ID Parts want $100. which i think is steep. I have a Jeep Liberty CRD which just turned 100K. I am Don from Huntingdon, Pa. I am new to this website. I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me. Don

Not that hard to make the cam pins, see http://www.beesvillebeefarm.com/jeep.html and my pin dimension post viewtopic.php?f=98&t=72201) a 6mm or 1/4" long shaft allen key works for flywheel pin (see 05 FSM for how to) and you can probably pickup a VW cam holder tool pretty cheap.

Are you just trying to do a timing belt job? or is it something else.

idParts has a good TB/WP kit. Remember on the WP all you have to replace is the front half and the "O" ring; back half has no moving parts and is a pain to remove.

You might get one timing job from those cheap pins. Good, fast, cheap. Choose one.

Like I'd said and misspelled: caveat emptor

a.k.a.: let the buyer beware
