I took it in for the BCM recall. I asked them to the the TSB for the shudder issue while it was there. I got a call a few hours later and they told me the computer board fried when they tried to do the flash. They've ordered a new computer and will have it ready tomorrow but now my wife has to drive the rental taurus(the dealer is paying for the rental)

Oh well...my luck is always the same!

Being in the computer service business I can tell you that "flashing" is a risky thing. Any number of things can cause it. On our major installations when we go in to do a flash we take extra parts :D But it may be a good thing because it might have caused a future problem to surface

I think it is standard practice for them to fry the computer. The same thing happened to mine right before they decided to replace my Torque Converter.

It probably just coincidence, mine had to be replaced in the reflash and my transmission has been acting stupid ever since.
