I believe I have a failing CV shaft on the driver side of my '06 CRD. I want to replace both sides, since that is what I have always tried to do when dealing with wheel related problems. From many peoples suggestions I first checked NAPA for their re-manufactured CV's. Unfortunately, they show no stock available company wide right now and their only alternative is the crappy Chinese ones. Does anyone know of a decent quality replacement that is the proper length for the CRD? I may be ordering from Rockauto soon for some parts for my rebuild Jeep, so that might be convenient. I just want to make sure I'm getting something reliable, not junk. Thanks! |

Rock auto will probably be your best choice. You might be able to find a local shop who can rebuild your existing cv axles. There really isnt anything special about the joints, just the shafts they are attached to. |

So do these look like the right dimensions for our application? http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 25&jsn=398 http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 25&jsn=399 I have had to return a few things to them lately and I think they're getting sick of me, haha. These ARE chinese CV's, but they seem to have a pretty good name for themselves from what info I can find on them. Many claim they are junk based on the country of origin alone, but have not tried them themselves. Those who have tried them seem to be in the "so far so good" boat. |

I believe the OEMs are once again available. You know what you are getting. Why not use them? Do you believe the aftermarket are better? Just trying to learn for my next set. |

Well, the $225.00 price tag (before shipping) for one. I know the quality will be better, but 4 times better? I can see if there were not other options that have been tried and tested or there were a known danger of causing damage to other components, but I have not heard those complaints in regard to the parts in question. |

You might try contacting Marty at Raxles in Gainesville, FL - http://www.raxles.com/ - to see if they offer a reman axle for our CRD application. One of the best parts vendors I've dealt with. I've purchased two sets over the years for a Volvo turbo and a 944 race car. Still going strong almost 10 years down range. |

I reached out to Marty at Raxles. He confirmed that they do not carry axles for our CRD application. Interested in what y'all find as a solution. |
