I believe that the 500ppm limit is the OLD DIESEL. The new ULSD will be lower than 500ppm, down to 50ppm??? I could be wrong, tho |

Special Agent is correct that 500 is the older diesel. It went from 5000PPM to 500PPM in 1993. The upcoming USLD is 15PPM though. That's why they have the warnings on that sign. It says that you can't run that fuel in model year 2007 or later. We will be able to run 15PPM in our older diesels. But the newer diesel will not be able to run our "older" 500PPM diesel in their newer vehicles. There will be a transition period while the stations all ramp up to having only 15PPM, then those signs will disappear and you will only be able to get/buy 15PPM diesel. |

As the posting states it will be illegal to use that fuel in vehicles of '07 year model, which will require ULSD. In other words no that is not ULSD. That is the current higest sulfur content allowed, BP, Shell and a few others generally have their highway diesel in the 350 to 400 ppm range. |

Nope, ULSD will be 15ppm. What you have is the current LSD 500ppm (in contrast to old diesel at +3000ppm) |
