Sounds like something is loose does it at start and stop (when power is increased and decreased). Has anybody experienced this? I have it in and they can't figure it out. They found a loose crossmember but that was not the cause. it also does it over bumps and tight turns. Let me know cause they are perplexed.

I think I saw a post about loose motor mounts. You might check into that.

Yup, sounds just like ours when the motor mount was loose. Have them check the passenger side mount.

If someone rides in the passenger seat, they will hear it very clearly and actually feel it right through the floor board at their feet.

Also have them check the lower front ball joints as both were bad, as well as the track bar joint for the rear suspension (it's on top of the diff housing) as that was bad, too. Those all helped when replaced, but not until the motor mount was retorqued did it fix the issue.

Ours is an '05 Sport, and has about 21K miles before it started clunking.

Good luck!

Chris

I told them that yours was a engine mount so they are ordering new ones to see if that fixes it. Thanks you guys for your help, while I was there I started our arbitration process, so hopefully we can get out of this mess.

They shouldn't need to replace the mount, just tighten it. It's a simple problem of looseness.

What is simple at the dealership? They make everything difficult, they said they weren't loose, so either something else is wrong with the mounts and they are replacing them or something is wrong elsewhere on the vehicle that they cannot identify. Hopefully I can just get rid of it. I wish that I never had a problem with it, then I'd be totally happy and satisfied, but as of yet its a weekly dealer trip with more problems popping up.

I got a call at 4:30pm that they're going to do the step One fix, replacing the lower ball joints tomorrow. I am getting the rent-a-car tomorrow. I don't want to get rid of mine can't find a vehicle the has the power and MPG like the CRD.
