Howdy - I started to reply but then realized I had no good answer. Then I decided to just answer anyway to let you know you haven't been ignored. Also, food poisoning does not always affect the everyone identically. For instance, if someone had a healthy dose of vinegar in a salad when they ate something with a high bacteria count, it likely wouldn't affect them whereas it might knock another person down who had a different ph in their stomach. Bacteria do not do well in an acid environment, generally. I never figured the back seat would be all that comfortable and have no plans to get back there. |

Distortion from the windshield could be a cause. I haven't noticed it in the Liberty yet, but the curvature of some windshields will mess with some people. I have had this happen once or twice when riding in the back of a vehicle, but I haven't ridden in the back of the Liberty yet. |

There's a back seat? |

Okay, I was just kidding. I never use the back seat. It stays down most of the time for the dogs. Didn't mean to make light of your sickness. Entertain my free-thinking for a moment... There are a number of reasons for getting physically ill in a vehicle. The main reason that I've seen is vertigo. Sitting in the back seat staring at a "stationary" headrest while the vehicle is bouncing along could lead to that, even in the smoothest-riding vehicle. But if they've never had that problem in any other vehicle's backseat, that's probably not the cause. I know that sound waves can have adverse effects on one's internal workings. There are actually weapons that do nothing but generate sound patterns scientifically designed to disable a human (they'll stop ya, drop ya and make ya puke...and you're lucky if you ONLY puke on yourself). Perhaps the accoustics in the KJ are such that the rumbling diesel sound waves are focussing in the back seat??? I have no idea how to resolve this, if it's the issue. Or perhaps it's the physical vibration. Hours of repetitive vibration could lead to stomach discomfort. Take the backseat out and put rubber bushings under the mounts. That would lessen some vibration. Beyond that...hmmm. I don't know. I do know that my niece rode in the backseat of my truck for a 12 hour trip once (VA Beach to Nara...Narragan...Providence, RI). She never complained and didn't have any stomach problems. She was alone in the 30% seat though (the one behind the driver). The 70% seat was folded flat and piled with gear. So maybe it's the sound waves and the gear packed next to her diffused it??? I don't know. Does anyone else have long-distance rear-seat experience? |

same problem, I installed Monroe reflex shocks just in the back when I was rotating the tires (it's that easy). it rides MUCH smoother. not that it rides like a caddy, but it's noticeably better than before |
