Post subject:  100,000 Mile Warranty Was I Scammed

When I purchased my 05 I was told that the engine was covered by a 100g engine warranty, now that I am looking for it I cannot find anything in print that would suggest that I will get that warranty.

Is it written on your paperwork anywhere or did someone just say it? One of the sales guys at the dealership told me the CRD had a 100K mile warranty but he was confused. It's the diesel trucks that have that..not our little Liberty.

DC hasd done a press release saying ALL their diesels has 100000 mile warranty in 05. The Liberty paperwork says nothing about it. You could make a case and possibly win but it would cost more than the repair.

If your sales person told you that I would get a lawyer friend to write the dealer a letter demanding a 100000 mile warranty or they buy back the vehicle. It may work, may not.

We all could class action DC using their own press as a lever. I like that idea more! :D

Yeah, I'll wait for the class action.

Well... Look at this. Right on a DC page and talking about the Liberty. Do the '06s get the 100K mile warranty?

Yes that is correct, all the '06 CRD's get the 5yr. 100K mi. warranty on the engine, but the '05s should be covered under the 7/70 bumper to bumper warranty, we only get 3/36 on bumper to bumper. Either way sounds like a challenge to get anything done regardless....haha. :)

Too bad it doesn't include the transmission.....

That is great, but it doesn't say anything in our warranty manual, or owners manual, the DC Rep said that it was only 70. We don't have much evidence.

I took my paper work out and didn't see it in writing. Asking the dealer now if it's covered and actually getting service past the 70k point are 2 different things. If anyone finds something in writing please post it

Found an article stating "DaimlerChrysler's Italian subsidiary VM Motori provides the common-rail fuel-injected engine. A five-year/100,000 mile warranty on the engine should give prospective buyers peace of mind when contemplating the diesel option."

Has anyone spoken to a DCX service manager about it?

My owner's manual clearly says 100,000 miles warranty on the engine. That's the only way I knew it had it...the salesman didn't say a word to me about that detail.

I looked but must be visually impaired, what page did you see that?

My owner's manual packet included a manual dedicated solely to warranty info. It said in there multiple times that the 100,000 mile warranty applies to diesel engines. Check your packet. If you didn't get everything that was included in your owner's manual packet, go to the dealer and request it.

Ours has same thing in warranty booklet. 100,000 mile warranty on engine. I will go look in the book and post back in a few minutes.

Yeah, let us know what you find, I went through it with our DC Rep and could see nothing that states that, other than in the towing manual. It has a half sentence that states a 100,000 mile diesel limited warranty.

My 2005 warranty info booklet has nothing regarding the 100,000 diesel warranty.

I stand corrected, no place in the warranty book does it say 100k mile on the engine. It must have been the '06 I was looking at that a friend bought. I called D/C about the warranty and was told '05 does not have 100k mile engine warranty, before I got off the phone I ask if they were going to put a diesel in Dakota PU truck as I would trade my much loved Magnum for one of those, the guy said keep eyes and ears open as I would most likey see the Dakota diesel shortly and within 6 months other vehicle's with a diesel option.

Our DC rep told us basically that we will see alot of other diesel options coming soon.

We have a '06 that we just got two weeks ago and our book shows 3-36 only. But my wife called the president of marketing today and he is going to look into it and call her back.
I was under the impression that it should have the five year thing. But we bought it anyway with an extended warrantee.

I checked my warranty manual and doesn't mention the 100k. No doubt they printed a seperate version for the CRD but mine must have gotten the gas book?
