Hi All, Looks like I need to replace my starter. I've looked all over for a video on "how to" on these but can't find anything. I've also read that it's easy and I've read that it's a PIA. Can anyone tell the steps? Fairly easy or PIA? I'm working on a 2006 model w/ skid plate(s). Thank you in advance! |

Disconnect the battery. Jack up the vehicle. Remove wire with spade terminal from the starter (I think it is yellow). Remove the nut holding the positive cable to the starter. Remove 3 bolts (I like to start with the one that you can't see). Hold onto the starter when removing the final bolt so that it doesn't fall. Remove starter. Reverse procedure to install. |

Make sure to get a genuine Denso starter... all others are crap and don’t last long. Before I started my shop I ran a fleet and we did 80k per year per car average so if you want to know what lasts the longest I have honestly tested them all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have also had good luck with Denso brand starters on trucks and tractors. Haven't had any problem with starters on CRD though. |
