Since JBA isn't selling them any more. What are the easiest homemade rear sway bar extensions? Also, with 3+ inches of lift, won't the extension grant a lot more articulation? Lastly, what's the most anti-sway stable recipe? I'm hoping the extensions put the bar back to how it should be tension wise, and thereby gives better stability? One last thought. Would a newer sway bar that hasn't been offroaded and lifted long term be more stable? I tow 5,000lbs on a regular basis... Thanks for any advice! |

Are you talking about the rear axle sway bar? Or the front sway bar connections to the front lower control arms? In my case, I removed all the sway bars. If you’re a serious off roader you should be able to handle it just fine. I’m not and I handle it just fine. Just don’t do any high speed slaloms. Seriously though... If you only remove the rear sway bar and keep the front, you’ll have all the articulation you need without a significant impact to on road handling. So, ditch the rear, keep the front, and drive safely.

[quote="flash7210"]Are you talking about the rear axle sway bar?" Yup, I had it in the title, but added it to the body of post also. Maybe they never made ones for the rear? Right now I can just barely tow my 5k boat+trailer 45 mph on the strait flat parts of the road, so looking to get more stable vs less, but more articulation offroad would be helpful too. Sometimes I have to use lockers just barely where a little more droop would handle it. Not that locking up doesn't put a grin on the face |

There are no options for the rear sway bar. Factory only. What exactly is the problem? Seems to me that the problem is not the sway bar. |

Do you mean the links not being long enough after a lift? If so I’ve cut them on other vehicles and lengthened with a piece of welded pipe in the center of the links. No problem. |
