It's been a few years since I've been on the forum, and my dead CRD has been sitting in my garage for almost three years. For a little background, here is the thread with some details from when it broke down in 2017: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=87507 I do have one friend who may be interested, and has first shot at it. If he doesn't pull the trigger very soon, I'm prepared to let it go for $1500, you pick it up in Sarasota, FL. The truck, despite sitting for three years, is most certainly worth double to triple what I'm asking for parts alone. It is a limited with leather, and spent most of it's life in Florida. If you would like to know more, I will do my best to answer any questions. My memory of this vehicle is fading, but I believe I can remember most of the relevant info. Again, at $1500, there is very little risk to the buyer. If I had the time and energy, I would part it out myself, as it would be more profitable. If I had better circumstances over the last few years, I would have tried repairing it myself...but it didn't happen, and definitely won't. So, it's simply time to get it out of the garage. Well, PM me if interested (I'll try to carefully check my email/spam as well as the forum), and thanks for considering! David |

Pictures? Feel free to email me - jeep [at] maincomputer [dotcom] and we can discuss. I'm still in Boca, and still willing to help you disassemble / fix this if you wanted. Reading through the other thread again, I didn't see where anyone had ever actually pulled the head to see what's going on and actually SEE the issues. Has that happened? Have the injectors been pulled? The parts will tell much more information than looking at the engine and trying to guess. This engine shouldn't have enough mileage to be at risk for dropping a valve at all, and cracked heads are extremely uncommon. But without more information, it's a guessing game. |

Here's a link to my CRD ad on Craigslist, if anyone is interested. I put it at $1600 because I'm giving away the house (I have some free goodies I'm including). If I don't get anyone local to bite, perhaps I'll start parting it out on here. Can't believe nobody wants this thing...heck the injectors, leather seats, chrome trim, lights, body panels, trailer hitch, etc. can very quickly add up to thousands. Oh well....in another life I would have brought it back from the dead...LOL. https://sarasota.craigslist.org/cto/d/s ... 38302.html |
