Anybody have any 'friends' that have tried these? Someone is buying them according to ebay. Mr. Sas Quatch has said he doesn't know anything about these.

Dont get too excited!

Off-Road use only!

Will require the use of a tuner to disable the EGR system.

No Instruction Included.

They are just selling some fittings. Not the delete program changes.

A tune is necessarily not needed to delete the egr. It will just throw a check engine light. Some have reported using a block off plate and leaving the wiring hooked up and get no check engine light.

To the op, this is pretty much a copy of the weeks kit. I’ve bought and installed quite a few now

Not true, untold numbers of owners have installed the EGR Delete Kits and drive them on the road each and every day.
Mine has been on the public roads with the EGR delete kit installed for about 7 years now.

Will require the use of a tuner to disable the EGR system.
NO TUNE can completely disable the EGR system; only by installing a "Block-Off" plate or total removal of the EGR system using an EGR Delete Kit can you be assured of total elimination of soot being sucked into the intake manifold or boost loss through a leaking EGR valve.

No Instruction Included.
Install instructions can be found on this forum (LOSTJEEPS) and / or by watching a YouTube video @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUgjFLyt95Q&ab_channel=COrobotchicken

The ECM reflash files are available on this forum (LOSTJEEPS) @ http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=78418
If you don't find your software version listed, you can contact Marco aka "Yeti" on this forum and he can provide you with a custom tune to fit your needs.

Careful there.
That “off road use” statement is for EPA compliance.
While some of us are lucky enough to live in areas where emissions inspection/testing is not required, that is not true for everyone.
In the United States, it doesn’t matter where you live, removal of an emissions control device is a violation of EPA federal law.
But if no one is inspecting your vehicle...

How are they going to know if they don't inspect?
The *** with the EPA, I like many others have no love for them. :furious: :furious: :furious:
You and I both know that some of what they have done to diesels (and other areas I won't go into) in the US is totally asinine and without any scientific reasoning or merit.

That is true, but there are still several full EGR delete kits available by others like on eBay.

The Sasquatch kits have not been available for several years now. These ebay kits are the only option, and as is typical with Ebay - there are multiple sellers, each knocking off the one before and mostly all chinesium. Someone knocked off the original design from Sasquatch (his was aluminum) and now they are all made from steel because that is cheaper.

I've purchased several of them however and they are suitable for installation, it's not like a couple fittings and an extruded elbow can be screwed up that much. The benefit to this setup versus the one with the solid elbow is flexibility of the installation.

I received my order last week and was intrigued by the amount of dirt that was in the box...the only thing I can guess is that they are casting something?? The large intake pipe was coated in a fine red dust. Or maybe the box came open when it was traveling through southern Oklahoma??

Don't know what the red dust might have been other than rust? As far as I know from the kits I have purchased, they are all made from extruded tubing and formed / bent to spec. There shouldn't be any casting (too thin) and certainly not sand casting. Was the whole pipe red? Maybe it was powder coating?

You can see where my fingers touched the tube...the inside of the tube is even worse.

Hmm. First blush, I'd say that is rust b/c they didn't even bother to coat the thing. The ones that I have bought have all been powdercoated and not had that issue, despite being steel and not aluminum. Steel MUST be coated with some protectant or will start to show rust in just hours, easy to show on a weeks-long ocean voyage from the land of chinesium.

Guess what I found stashed in a cabinet from several years ago?

Image
Seth on top, Xichowping on bottom (nice green tie straps!)

Guess who had the made in Taiwan hardware?

Only major difference I could see was the brass connector had thicker Chinesium

Now I just need instructions!

Post subject:  Re: A weak Stage 1 and 2?

You don't need instructions.... The kit really only installs one way. The plug goes in the side of the head when you remove the hose and nipple from under the #2/#3 gap and the connector goes where the "y" pipe is by the viscous heater. The crossover goes away. Everything else is self explanatory - but I would really wash down that rusty pipe with cleaner and then spray it heavily with enamel paint.... Or maybe have it powdercoated.
