Saturday morning I leaving on a trip from New Castle, DE to Camano Island, WA towing 2000lbs trailer. It will take nearly four day and should arrive there Tuesday night. I drove it before in a rough riding moving truck that didn't have cruise control so I feel I will be more conforable this time. Last week in August I will be driving the CRD back to DE. It has 3,300 miles on it now and bet it will have 10,000 on it when it returns. Hopefully, the engine will finally be broken in. |

Wave as you pass through and don't get bit by a Killer Whale once you get there! Be prepared for a little slow going through Spokane on I-90 on the way though. Major repaving project going on. |

I'll do that, it be Tuesday morning when I go thru. If you see a black jeep with black trailer and black tarp and two black Labs, that be me and my wife and dogs. Repaving project is nothing compare to Chicago detours and road closers. I'm rethinking my route thru there. |

Arrive here Tuesday evening rush hour. 405 and I-5 traffic very bad. I haven't any problems with the CRD and mileage average about 22MPG. That with speeds up to 75mph and pulling about 2000lbs trailer and loaded crd. Not much left of the tarp though. |

Cool! A friend of mine bought a new Subaru Legacy wagon after I bought the CRD and then a 16' FunFinder trailer to pull behind it on occassion. I tried to convince her the CRD might be a better choice. She bought the trailer new from a dealer in Helena and went to pick it up a couple of weeks ago. The Subaru handled the pull OK but the mileage dropped from 30+ to under 11 MPG. 22 is real good at 75 MPH. |

Chicago is a living nightmare, every road is under construction. Do not go through Chicago 90/94 aka DAN RYAN, stay on 294. Wont look much better but trust me it is. |

I already did it and sorry I did. Really cost me lots in tolls also with the trailer. Triple of just a car for the one extra axle. When I make the return trip. at the end of August, I will push the avoid tolls button on the NAV. |

Virtually impossible to get through Chicago without using toll roads, even the free roads are linked by toll roads. To avoid the tolls, hope you enjoy taking the scenic route. |
