Post subject:  Kill the EGR???

My wife's '06 only has about 3500 miles on it. No problems, but I have been reading all the problems with the CCV and EGR. CCV has a couple of fixes. I'm planning on getting Oldnavy's filter as soon as it is availible. If it takes too long to get into production, I'll just do the open vent. Anyway, I got to thinking, with the EGR problems, is there any way (or could there be a way) to just get rid of the darn thing??? Or perhaps by pass it and fool the ECM. Hate to see a good engine ruined by emissions mess. I like a clean running engine but not at the expense of the engine itself. :(

Do some searches - we've discussed this at length. The common belief is that there are a multitude of sensors to be fooled (for instance, the computer monitors airflow and expects certain changes based on EGR position). So short of hacking the computer code itself there doesn't seem to be an easy way to fool the system.

I know from using several chips for my Grand National that computers can be fooled. It would be nice to have a programer that would bypass the egr along with the extra power you get from them.
