Not that this really matters in the grand scheme, but the manual for my VW Jetta Wolsfburg (1.8t gasser motor) listed a cool-down period. I always did and it was running like new when I got rid of it at 70k miles. I also perform a cool down in my CRD KJ. But it's never much more than what OldNavy talked about. Park, gather things, unbelt, look around...finish listening to song, shut off motor. Maybe a minute.
I checked on a turbo-timer the same week I bought this thing. No one had them but SP Diesel was talking about making them. I'd probably buy one from SP Diesel or Mopar, but I'm not sure I'd trust anyone else.
I think it would be a great thing to have, especially if you use the KJ for a lot of long trips (especially towing on the interstate).
Hey that usually takes me at least a minute sometimes more, unless I am about to have an accident in the car.

Hey I slow down and coast into the rest stops or stations as much as I can, always figuring that the diesel ran cool enough it was not needed, but better safe then sorry and follow cool down that a turbo gasser would use. However if I needed to jump out quick I knew the synthetic oil could handle the heat.
