hope u extended ur breather tubes......! i ended up with water inside my rear/front diffs... it fried my speed sensor in the rear end a month after doing the same thing... might wanna check ur fluids.... but awsome pic!!!!

hey thats a funny pic to me
I see flooded roads all the time but never with snow on the sides
oh yeah next time you may want to go a little slower I found my self telling my wife that alot when the KJ was new she would just plow into that kind of stuff and push up a big wake like that not good

like in this pic you can see she pushed moddy water up on to the hood

no damage was done but I did not like it ,I had to clean it

Is that a current pic? I live in Westfield, and no snow has stuck here yet. I'm looking forward to the white stuff. I want to take my 4-year-old sledding. She want to go offroading now, too!

Awesome pictures. I'm guessing you go to Ball State?? You're not too far away...Muncie is about an hour and half to two hours away from me.

Last time I was in water that deep at a run w/ the Midwest, I was clinching my teeth hoping for the best...w/ stock tires. Made it through though..!

A crossing that deep should have been no problem as stock KJ can fjord 21 inches of water at 10 miles /hr.

I would agree with the above post,shouldn't be any water getting in diff.fluids at that depth

A large number of us have traveled through water deeper than that at Moab. No issues even when going fast.

ok, you guys want to hear a REAL water fording story? My first trip out wheeling, it had rained a few days earlier, luckily, i had just gotten my new tires mounted. No lie, the water was just about up to the door handles on my Frankelifted KJ, in fact, the whole front of my friend's KJ went under up to the lights, if he had been going a little faster, he would've drown the engine for sure. Luckily, we both stayed dry, and i changed my diff. fluids ASAP. It was fun for sure, but i def. wouldn't do it again without a snorkel and extended breathers.

Actually, I don't know but in an emergency the front can be briefly submerged. When the intial water goes in the airbox it will drain throught the drain holes in the bottom. But once again, that's only on big kinda over the hood wave. For a sustained run that deep, that air box would evetually fill with water and then the engine would hydrolock.

I live in Montpelier, only about 15 miles away, is that a public road, and does it flood often?
