My brother has a '99 Sahara and over the winter has done quite a bit of work to it in a relatively small amount of time. He got a 2" susp. lift, 1" body lift, 33x12.5 Wrangler SilentArmors on 15" black steel rims. We got to check out the flex on a trail recently. I couldn't get the anxious sensored word to stop for some pics until we tried some lone rocks RTI style. My new wheel spacers allowed for a little more flex out of my rig, but not too noticeable. My bro has some much improved articulation, though. I dig the all black look he's got going with it.

I know, it IS poser, but that was only real spot we got fully flexed out on. It's a Garvin Wilderness rack, 50x78x6", got it used off an older Mitsubishi Montero. It's just mounted to the stock rails and one rear crossbar. That's the only way I can fit it into the garage But I'll need something sturdier to support the huge rack. It flex up front when I stand on it because it only has the support in the middle and rear. I want to replace the stock rails with something steel.
I went to Perry Park and Wally Road. Perry Park is a rural neighborhood about 20 minutes southwest of Castle Rock. It has a few fun little trails that will eventually be road for housing The pic is in a future neighborhood Wally Road is a unmaintained road on the way to Perry Park. The trails aren't hardcore by any means, but it's about the only open trail within an hours drive. Lots of mud and ruts, and the occasional rock, as you can see.

I had a few boards and a snow shovel up there because we didn't know what to expect at the trail.The rack IS big, but it's beefy. I like it...but everyone I wheel with locally gives me crap because they say I'll "destroy it and everything up there" when I roll the KJ. I tell them I don't have plans on rolling my vehicle, they may have their own plans with theirs. I've already had a lot of stuff up there, and with my swaybars off and the new wheel spacers front and back, it feels more balanced than it did without the spacers and rack.

What I mean is that your KJ actually looks decent and neat when it is parked on the street, nobody could have guessed that you could get a flex like that. It doesn't look out of proportion, yet when it goes on that rock, it seems like it can tackle anything. That's what I like.

Thanks. Most people are suprised by the flex the Lib can get with a good lift. The key, though, is eliminating rub. I did this almost completely with wheel spacers. You can see how well I keep up with the bro, and he's got 33s. Now if he had, say, a 4" lift, compared to his current 2", I'd be left behind for sure. I just need to trim the rear flares a little and pound down my pinch welds up front and I'm completely full-flex rubless!

He likes them. He's mostly driving street, like me, and they're quiet and handle great on road. They're all-terrains really. They clean OK offroad and seem to grip just fine. I haven't seen them on the rocks or aired down at all. I'd recommend them as a good A/T tire, but I think he paid quite a bit for 'em.
