Is that your elise? We thought about getting one of those because its an amazing price for that kind of sports car .. but in the end it was just too flashy.

Sure thats mine...well thats just a lie, No I just posted that up there because that has to be my favorite modern car to date. The performance to price ratio is hard to beat on the Elise. If I could afford one I would get one for sure. Too flashy? I guess I'v got a thing for Mid engined cars. Elise, MR2, NSX, Smart roadster, ENZO. Im not sure about the smart but almost any MR car has excellent handling, throw in the light weight of the Elise...that thing has got to put a smile on your face :D

Jeger, Joey Kramer from the band Aerosmith has one of those in Red. i saw him @ outside a store near my house putting in the roof. He had just gotten it and was having a bit of trouble putting it on. I shot the poop with him for a minute.he seemed like a real nice guy and didn't mind talking. He said he loved it. I took a few pics with my phone..
He had a bright yello Lotus about 10 years back that caught on fire at a gas station near me at the pumps. The old the engine was running while filling up..Steven Tyler lives near us too. His wife was cheating on him with a contracter remodeing there Mansion, they broke up after that,,haha..

Why the hell would he leave the engine running when he was filling up? :?:

Because he can. Heck why do all these stars do half the stupid things they do, because they can, or because they can afford to buy their way out of the consequences anyhow.

Cool Viper picts and video! I saw a new red convertible on the road the other day. Does the new convertible Viper remind anyone else of the Shelby?

Yeah but that doesnt make any sense .. I know tons of people who can pay their way out of pretty much anything and they would never be retarded enough to leave an engine running while filling up

I believe that Carrol Shelby was one of the influencers Chrysler had on the Viper team back in 1990. Chrysler's plan was to bring back the American roadster with Shelby's style and flair....much to the dismay of Ford.

Yeah that just figures that we dont get the Exige over here. Maybe I can get one without an engine, Do you think the turbo SRT-4 out of a neon in there?

You can probably just order a bare elise, then send the Toyota motor for Lotus to tune, then pop it back in along with replacing a few body panels in carbon fiber. Its the only way, haha. I would rather put a JDM EJ20 motor in it than an SRT4.

Theres a company in Japan that will sell you an MRS with a K20 motor in it for 35k. That should be quite interesting.

Isn't a problem with the bumpers that makes the exige illegal in the U.S.? If that's the case it would be difficult to modify a regular elise (into an exige) and keep it street legal.

Thats sort of the thing. The goal with the Exige was to make it even lighter and better handling than the Elise, and all you basically have to do to the Elise short of the built and blown engine is to make it lighter with carbon fiber and some structural modification. Granted, you aren't exactly abiding with the DOT rules for street legality if undertaking a project like this, but it would definitely be a fun and fast car if you did.

I think the main reason for not importing the Skyline GT-R directly also has to do with the windshield glass not meeting spec, as well as door panels.

Nevertheless, its nice to dream that these beautiful rides could be replicated here in the states.

I personally think it would be badass to import an exige or gt-r through the black market and somehow forge the registration and drive it

There's an classic car show they have over at Laguna Seca every year and one of the cool parts is that the Skip Barber Racing School sells laps around the track in Vipers and souped up Neons. All the money goes to the local hospital. Super fun to go around the track at a real speed. If you have a car in the show you get to drive on the track too. It's really fun, but the Viper ride kicks booty!

Have you guys attended DCX showcases. Gotten a free ride in the Viper and SRT10 at the DC showcase. I got an invite and got to drive the new model year cars and ride in the SRT10 and Viper and they had a professional driver who would speed into a corner and fishtail them.... I found the SRT10 more fun as it felt you would roll over given the speed but the Viper remained poised.

Got to drive the KJ over their obstacle course too....

Cool way to promote DCX product!!! Beats going to the dealership and talking to a sales person.
