Double Shocks infront-pics added

Nice pics, just one question though if you don't mind, how much is the shipping cost on an ARB bumper to Dubai?

I actually bought it from ARB Dubai and cost me around 1000$.
If I to buy it and ship it from Australia would cost me 300$ more.
Also WE HAVE NO TAX :lol:

I don't know if I am interpreting this wrong or what but you said there are double shocks in the front? I only see one shock...can someone please explain what I am missing? Sorry for being a noob...im new to the KJ.

EDIT: Sorry I was thinking "Dual Shocks"...my bad.

There's a strut inside of the coil springs. It's the white piece you see through the coils

All I see is a bumpstop...or did he replace that with a shock?

the stock setup is coilover. so, there is a shock (or strut) inside of the coil spring. he still has this, only that its longer and aftermarket for his lift. then theres the big rancho shock angling toward the back that you can see really clearly. this is the one that he added.

Actually it should be strut not "shock 2"

I haven't taken a tire off my KJ yet to even look at it. I saw another pic you posted where there is a stubby looking object inside the coils that I thought was the bumpstop. My mistake.

thats a pic of the rear suspension. the shock is outside of the spring on the back and that stubby thing is indeed a bumpstop.

The key is back on the first page 'dune bashing'
he's hitting full travel of the suspension at high speed - therefore the extra shock helps control the bounce and rebound.
it's kinda like adding a super big shock absorber - except that no one makes a super big shock absorber - but if you get the right angle - you can weld on mounts.

It's real common on off road racers.

Did it do any damage when you hit that wrangler? How the heck did that grand get buried up like that?!

It amazes me that anything holds up in the sand like that! :shock:

I believe it is for TJs.

Sand at that area is way too soft. Smallest dune is 100 feet high and steap on the other side causing unavoidable jumps. One mistake people make is pressing breakin due to panic. Doing that he drifted down and side ways...big mistake.
