I think it looks pretty cool, should work like my 6" did only the platform's down lower. JBA has all his own equiptment on the front suspension other than the platform drop and his springs are in the correct position not like the old RK system that kept failing. It needs 35"s and re-gearing if it doesn't have at least 4:10s.

to make it look good, it need a bigger tire...w/ 12 inches he could be running 38'' w/ ease...but why would you w/ the d30a and only capable of 4:10's... it's like ppl running 35'' or higher on a D35...it can be done but it will brake... but that's how we make money is from ppl who have know idea...sure the kit looks ok but why...you could almost had a straight axle...i have been running 36's w/ my HPD30 and that's a stretch...the difference is i can easily up grade i'm not stuck at 4:10's and a crappy front end...there is no point other then to say WOW

It is possible to upgrade the kj to the KK d30 which can handle 4.88 gears. You will need a KK cradle or modify the kjs to mount the d30.

The KK's diff is still aluminum and even with the stronger pinion area would be at it's max running 33"-34" tires it would just crack in another spot, then you got to consider the CV's will not live after a 34" tire.

Yeah, but a 34" tires would be more than what most driving a KJ would look to run anyway. I think swapping the KK diff in is a good alternative for those wanting to run 33s and don't want to go all out for the SFA.

It could be,would need a willing person to dish out the $$$ to find out what all is need and final price of the swap.

Very true. I hope someone goes for it though.

i'm telling ya, a 6" lift with rear long arms and a 2-3" cradle drop would be the way to go. 32's would be a perfect size and you would get a ton of travel, insane rear flex, and your cv angle up front wouldn't be outrageous. That 12" monstrousity is not needed, its way to big for our needs. (no "thats what she said" jokes ...... thunderbirdjunkie  ) if you look at the limitation of the kj, and what you really need to make it a kick arse wheeler i think that would be the best bet.

Can you put a D44 in the Liberty? :D I'd like to cut out those darn fender wells and put some 33's in when my tires wear out. 4:88 gears would be sweet too.

d44ifs would be pretty much useless, for the price of putting that in you could almost get a sfa installed.

kkd30 is a good idea as long as they can make is so for only a few hundred you can swap it in. not including the cost of the diff.

still with the added strength you would still need a lift of around 6" to get good travel with 33"s someone with some pull should talk to a company that makes chevy ifs lifts, i'm sure if you can lift a big arse chevy with IFS 6" for under $2000, they could make one for our little kj's for a competitive price
