Looks like a blast. When are you getting some beadlocks? It seems from the pictures if you aired those MT/R's down to about 3-5 lbs it would help a lot.

BTW did the CJ buggy have a 350 in it?

I can't imagine an accident happening like that to one of our group.
The only buggy there was actually based on an FJ landcruiser hood and grill. They are running an LS1 or LS2 engine in it. It is a monster to say the least. There was also a purple jeepster commando with an LS2 in it that was there.
I've heard with aluminum wheels you can blow a bead easier than with steelies because the bead lip is so small. So with my current setup, I have only been airing down to 10psi. The Kevlar sidewalls are fairly stiff too. Eventually I'll get these wheels and run 5psi.

This is definitely a magazine quality rig. It’s amazing how the handicapped IFS KJ can be turned into a very capable trail rig with a little help from a SFA. I guess my biggest questions is this: You’ve built your KJ the way you want it, and you know you love to build, so what’s going to be your next project? I realize that you have dumped a fair amount of time and money into the KJ, but I also know that a man like yourself isn’t going to stop there.

Eventually I'll probably sell the KJ and maybe build a BRUTE. That is my dream trail rig. For now the KJ suits me just fine. I may put a 241OR in it, but I doubt I'll ever swap axles again for an upgrade. Unless I come across some ridiculous deals. Other than that, I think I'll just tinker with some things here and there on Big Black and just keep wheeling the crap out of it.

Well thankfully it wasn't someone from our group, but a church group that was out playing around. Anyway it can happen to anyone

Yeah, I can get a great deal on those wheels too. $250 a pop, which is a lot, but not for top of the line beadlocks. I just don't want to spend it, especially when the wheels I am running now cost me $60.

Normally the trail isn't that bad actually, but it is a different animal in the snow and ice.

I should rephrase then. The trail can be run by a rig on 33s with one locker. :lol:

I didn't take any of the shots, but one of the 3 guys riding with me took like 190 pics. With 21 rigs going, I guess there are plenty of shot opps.

U don't need to spend that much. Make your own. Have a local fab shop cut some rings out of 1/4" steel. Find someone with a drill press to drill the holes and have the inner rings welded on some steelies. It'll be a lot cheaper than $250 a rim. Here is a shot of mine, home made. The inner ring is way too big though and I need to have someone cut them down. Plus with this style you can have someone cut your own design into them:

I'm considering doing the DIY beadlocks, especially after seeing his come out pretty nice.
