Could be worse, at first glance I thought it was pink with red and green. Then I figured out it was just the straps. Maybe it's pink so it's less likely to get stolen? :wink:

The bike is pink for a few reasons....

#1) You can make fun of it if you can keep up....

#2) I raced on a team sponsored by Outback Steak houses....we wanted bikes that stood out at the races. How many men would ride a pink bike?

The bike frame alone is about $3000 then you add on the $1200 front fork and so on and you get the picture.

At the speeds experienced downhillers go, you wouldn't be laying out flat. You'd be bouncing around awhile and then be a knarled mass of flesh up against a rock or tree.

I have been clocked up too 56mph on some sections of the trail. I typically go for the real technical rocky, rooty big drop sections.

It is indeed an M1....nice Kona! Kona really developed the freeride movement...I am pumped about that. They are a great company with pretty decent bikes. How big was that drop?

My cousin was trashing the pink and then he flew out and we did some runs together....when he crashed 4 times in 1 run and couldnt keep me in sight it pissed him off. Then I took the shorter way around and hit the 9ft drop and then just turned it up a bit and left him behind he was all upset... :lol:

I'd hate to be that slow rider in front coming around a bend when you fly down at 56mph and you don't see me until the last second. Also would hate to be you at that instant.....and after it.

The top speed was recorded during a race....so the only other people on the track are racers going just as fast.

Most sections of trails are a lot slower...20-30mph or even slower. I really enjoy the slower more technical stuff...the big rock drops(10+FT of vertical drop), rock beds, and ladder bridges and high skinnies or balance logs.

i'm diggin' the pink frame. thats not the only M1 i've seen in that particular color, but its a chick that rides it

that was a sweet drop at around 5.5ft, but the slick rock landing is the tricky part.
