Today was the last day of the Snowshoe Jeep Jamboree and since Snowshoe has high speed Interent I figured I'd post some pics. I believe there were three or four KJs at this event, at least three of which frequent LOST. There were a few dozen Cherokees and Grand Cherokees and a ton of Wranglers. There were around 200 Jeeps in total. I have to say that of the two trails I did the Liberty didn't get stuck once and an uncountable number of stock and modified Wranglers, including Rubicons, did. Obviously, with their greater numbers the odds are against them, but the Libertys held their own. Below are some pictures of the second day which we spent in some mud on a trail called Yo-Yo.

In one of the pits I slashed a sidewall on something hidden in the mud. For all the crap we give the Wrangler people these guys were great. We had the wheel swapped out in under five minutes NASCAR style. We had a guy on the jack, a guy on the front wheel, and I was on the spare. As you can see from all of the mud on the ARB, it acts as a good ramp It saved my butt once when its tapered side wing deflected the front of the Jeep off of a tree while I was shooting out of the end of a long stump infested mud pit.


Here's the Libby going up a 45 degree incline with a 45 degree drop on the other side. You can see my spare is all muddy; it was the tire I'd used all the previous day and this day up until it blew.

So in conclusion: Mad props to the all the Wrangler guys, they were really great. Apparently all of the Libertys performed great but I never saw any of them in action other than my own. I can say that W3CSX of LOST led the group on the second day in his CRD without trouble

Endurance, the computer is a custom built car PC system I'm working on with a Xenarc 700TSV touch screen. Right now I mostly run Windows Media Player and MS Streets and Trips on it, but am in the process of writing more useable front end software. RockyMtEditionKJ, I was thinking that myself, having the spare on the back propably cut the time to a third as long as it would have been otherwise. I almost slid into a few trees during the two runs so I'm looking at getting some rock rails that stick out of the side of the Jeep a little bit, maybe to protect the doors. Anybody else having any like this. The Boulder Bars stick out, but I don't think far enough to protect the doors.

Endurance, many people go with the VoomPC as it's a good case if you're using a Mini-ITX mobo without a PCI riser, which most people are. The only reason I got the Opus ITX was because it could accept two PCI cards, a disc drive, and has an integrated 120W power supply. It would have been nice to have a smaller case like the VoomPC to save more room, but I just couldn't fit all of my parts in it. If you want a small cheaper enclosure you might also want to check out the Opus ITX Mini case, which also includes a power supply. This is getting a little of topic so if you have any more questions about building a Jeep PC feel free to PM me

JKS makes their SuperNerf for the KJ. Their site lists the MSRP as $419 but I've found them for around $350 if you search the 'net. My OE rails are starting to rust (suprise, suprise...) and I'll probably get these to replace them.
