Wow. I hate you now. :P Every time I'm at the dealer I make sure to go visit the one in the showroom. Theres a sweet blue one at one dealer here. Ever look at the tax alone on one of those?

They are absolutely scary to drive with the amount of available power (HP and torque) at any RPM. You can take off with it in 3rd gear and shift to 6th at 35 mph.

There was some 16 year old kid that wrapped one around a telephone pole last year doing stupid s*** while behind the wheel back here in Pinckney. The ironic part? His father had taken it for a test drive and had asked his son if he wanted to sit behind the wheel. It was a total loss and the dealer really got screwed. I'll see if I can dig up the newspaper article about it (w/ pics of course!)

Awesome....I am sure you couldn't really feel all of its power from the drivers seat and not driving. I would love to get one out on a drag strip course.

I can relate (somewhat). On my 19th birthday, my (at the time) girlfriend's father let me drive his 06' M5. Lets just say I know what it feels like to have that kind of power under my foot. I was doing 65 in 2nd gear in that pup.

Something that I thought was just crazy, we were running 55mph in 6th gear, get this, it was only hitting 1k rpms! I couldnt even hear the engine!! So much torque at such low rpms!! I want a V-10 in my libby!!!

Don't mean to hijack at all, but this summer I took a ride in a Ferrari F430. It is the second fastest Ferrari road car ever built. It was quite an experience. The owner had us up to 90MPH on a 25MPH residential zone very quickly. Again, wish I could have driven it...

Here is a pic with two of his four Ferraris and my Libby. The F430 I rode in is the grey one. Very fast car!

My friend's dad collects cars like that: A lambo gallardo, a ferrari 456 GT, a bently azure, a rolls royce from the 30's, a VW phaeton, range rover sport, an f430 and an SL500 tuned by brabus. (Those are the cars he has at his house here. He has another house in florida where he keeps an equally impressive list of cars)

The way you afford cars like that is by having a job that sends you a lot of money every few weeks

I have never gotten to ride in anything that exotic, but one summer I did get to cruise around in a car that would beat or at least be a close race for that viper in the 1/4 mile. We had a 64 plymouth fury with a 440 out of a 71 challenger in it. It ran 11.4 in the 1/4 mile on street tires. Needless to say it was slightly tweaked. Of course if you added any more length than 1/4 or threw a turn in there the viper would completely stomp the fury.

So anyone got some pics of their hot rods to post up? Would love to see them.

Is that your elise? We thought about getting one of those because its an amazing price for that kind of sports car .. but in the end it was just too flashy.

Sure thats mine...well thats just a lie, No I just posted that up there because that has to be my favorite modern car to date. The performance to price ratio is hard to beat on the Elise. If I could afford one I would get one for sure. Too flashy? I guess I'v got a thing for Mid engined cars. Elise, MR2, NSX, Smart roadster, ENZO. Im not sure about the smart but almost any MR car has excellent handling, throw in the light weight of the Elise...that thing has got to put a smile on your face :D

Yeah, that is pretty slick, the elise is pushing practicality out the door, that thing just bulldozed right over it though

ROFL..Actually, I sold my 97 TJ that was built very well, Ford 8.8 rearend, Rubicon express long-arm lift, crane diff covers front and rear! Then bought a Range Rover at the same time I had the NSX. Then sold them both and bought a new GMC 2500HD CrewCab SLT w/Duramax. Loved the diesel so much I sold it 2 weeks a go and found my Liberty Limited CRD fully load and its a 2005 but brand new. Dealer still had it on the lot! And loving it!

My old TJ....Wish I could have it back with a CRD in it!
