Post subject:  I got a Liberty!

I just purchased my 2002 4x4 limited auto last month and have been enjoying the jeep quite a bit. :P I'm use to racing around in lowered manual street cars and never thought that I would like anything else. Since I got the jeep, I've been creeping around this forum looking for tire recommendation.. and now I'm totally interested in a lift! I've always been into modifying cars. Actually got some OME mediums on the way! Well here's some pics before I took it camping with me and the family..

Nice Evo. I will say that is the first silver one I've seen and I really dig that. The Evo is one of the few imports I would drive. Just a good looking car.

Hey now!! Exhaust mods on turbo cars make a huge difference after some tuning. Besides, it sounds nothing like a fart at any rpm/load.. but it's darn loud which may be equally irritating

Very clean looking limited KJ...it's sort of hard to find 02's in that kind of condition. Mine was pretty well taken care of...you just have to look around and see what you find. Good luck and enjoy the KJ.

Very nice Evo. But, I'm sure you came on here for the KJ, which is in good condition by what I can tell. Anyways, the majority of people on here would highly recommend the Frankenlift from All J Products. Seems to have the least problems with the most lift. Skyjacker seems to be pretty hit or miss. I'm sure you can find many thread about the hi's and lo's on here. Anyways, welcome aboard and everyone here is very helpful and accomodating.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I was shocked about how good the condition of the car was, and it only had 46k miles on it privately owned. It's also came decked out with the RB1 navigation deck, 6-disc changer, uconnect and the evic.

Lifts.. I'm going for the OME coils on the stock shocks/struts combo, then will upgrade to rancho rsx down the road. I'll be happy with a 1.5" lift over what I got. I just want to fit some beefy A/T tires on. Still deciding on 255/70, 265/70 or 245/75 though :?

I agree, going all Black would look killer. I keep toying with the idea of powder coating mine black as well.
Bernardio - is that a custom bar around the front end, or just an after market bar that was painted? Looks good regardless. 8)

All black would look killer, but I don't think I'll be changing my wheels anytime soon.
You know, I have no idea about the front bar. It does have "Jeep" embossed on the front center of it. It's plastic though, at least on the outside.

I would stay with 245/70/16's with the OME lift. I have the ome lift and Im selling my 255/70's b/c they rub some but the main reason is the loss of torque. Im going to try and get some 245/70's if I can ever sell these..

Sounds like you got some goodies on the interior. How's the uConnect working out? As far as tires, I wouldnt recommend the 265s as those with 2.5" lifts get a lot of rubbing.

Thanks for the info Jeepjeepster. I'm planning on the 255's with a stock wheel so I'm hoping I don't get the same issues you had with rubbing. I will rarely take this jeep off roading, maybe just snow/slush roads and light trails at that. I'm also looking at the Yokohama Geolanders A/T-S and the 255's weight is 38lbs each (tirerack) which is a bit lighter that the Grabbers to minimize any power loss.
