Started the fab for some sliders. At the moment its 2 peices of steel angle iron bolted through the pinch weld. I do plan on adding a strip of steel sometime in the spring time along the bottom.

Ran out of daylight before i took pics so i didnt bother getter real good ones, better shots to come tomorrow.

(*Disclaimer* - These arent meant to take striking blows from sharp pointy rocks as that wasnt a concern for the offroading that i do*)

What are you hoping that they'll protect the Jeep from?

Only purpose they are going to be meant for is to give me some kind of flat surface to slide on while going down a sharp incline.

I have no doubt they'd bend like paper if they were hit while bouncing around going through a path with a bunch of large rocks, but thats not of concern to me.

I had ripped off the little plastic peices that cover the pinch weld a while back going from a flat surface to a steep muddy incline, i had a BUNCH of this angle iron laying around and had no real use for it.

I tried them out earlier today, they did exactly what i had wanted them to do, i've got no complaints.

Will i be changing them out for actual functional rock rails sometime...yes, was building them a good way to kill a sunday afternoon with some buddies at no cost to me, definatly.
