Wow! So sad to hear about that. Perhaps she fell asleep at the wheel, ran off the road by an idiot driver, looking too much at the scenery, talking on the phone, wild animal ran in front of her, or one of many other things. Sad to see that happen to someone.

Sure looks like the basic structure of the roof held up well though.
Is there a story about that somewhere?

I wasn't really expecting a fatality by the look of the kj, the pass. side was flat but the roof and driver side didn't look that bad.

Air bags only work once...and after bouncing around in something like that...i'm sure the head trauma was enough to do it....

Nuts video you would be stupidly lucky to survive from that and for the size of the cliff the kj faired out not to bad. I'm sure my toyota camery hahaha laught it up(traded for libby wife don't work and don't drive) would of folded like paper off that.

The vehicule structure held up pretty well but the forces experienced from the fall down that cliff would have been fatal.

I agree. Probably just the shock from hitting the ground killed her.

In an accident there are really 3 collisions. The first is the vehicule impact, second is the occupants impact, and third is the collision of the internal organs within the body. Studies have show that humans are able to withstand impacts of about 50-60 G before the muscular and skeletal damage occurs. Although, we do not know the forces experienced by this individual, it appears that she probably succumbed to internal injuries as the fall seems quite severe.

Wow thats only 15miles south of Bellingham, where I live. I think I remember it happening a while back, but can't recall any other details. Chuckanut Dr. is a really pretty drive, but definitely not for the drunk or tired at heart -- its narrow, windy and, as you can see, missing guardrails in places as well.

I wonder if anyone saw her go off that cliff. If not I bet you could be down there a good while before you got noticed.
