Thanks guys, hopefully I'll be doing my planned upgrades soon. Raceinfan - I'm not sure on the clevis lift. I placed a factory order with my local dealer in Richmond, VA in October 2002 to get exactly what I wanted. It arrived in DEC 2002 and the dealer lifted it for me and slapped on the MOABs and 245s. It's just been too long and I can't remember. I'll check and get back to you. OzLTD - I've always liked the white letters out, and didn't realize it had gone out of fashion. Then again, I've never paid attention to the fashion police. I wear white sneakers with white socks along with my jeans - gotta be your own original. But actually, you're looking at 245s. The 265s I mention in my signature is one of many planned upgrades. Thanks, Ivan. |

Dog Party - I bought it at Haynes Jeep in Glen Allen, VA (on West Broad St in the west end of Richmond, just off I64). I know this sounds like a sales add, but it really is a great dealer, no pressure, and they back up their sales with great service. I wasn't going to buy anything from them unless I had a good experience with the service dept first. So I sought out and met their service manager (Doug Cook). They're not a performance shop, but they still did great work on my 83 CJ-7. Doug Cook is very good people, and easy to work with. My girlfriend also decided to buy her 05 Rubicon there as well. If you ever visit them, I would make it a point to meet Doug Cook right off the bat. I actually just emailed Doug to try and get Raceinfan's clevis lift question answered. He might just remember. Ivan. |

Where can I get those black fender flares for my 05 liberty sport? |

Thanks for the info on the Richmond dealer. I don't know where UVALAX (Richard) went when he got his Rubi, but he lives right over there on the west side of Richmond, near Short Pump. Are you from VA? Are you coming back this way? Endurance, those are factory Renegade fender flares. In questioning that, you are reaching where so many of us American CRD owners have reached. The theoretically attainable, but pricey...American CRD Renegade. The part numbers for the fender bits are listed below, but I'm pretty sure we'd have to modify the front end too, since in 05 they put a flat hood on the Renegade. So it wouldn't just be the fender flare parts, we'd have to replade the hood, front clip, and potentially even the front fenders themselves. Getting all that straight from Mopar would cost a small fortune, so I'm keeping my eye out for an 05 Renegade that's sitting in a junk yard with no damage to the front end. Hey, a guy can dream... Fender flares: -Front- 5JR68CJMAG [K8E], Right 5JR69CJMAG [K8E], Left -Door- 5JR72CJMAE [K8E], Right 5JR73CJMAE [K8E], Left -Rear- 5JR70CJMAE [K8E], Right 5JR71CJMAE [K8E], Left -Rivets-(I think you'll need 4 per corner, so 16 total) 06506007AA - RIVETs Maybe one day I'll get all the part numbers for the CRD/Renegade conversion and do it. Or maybe I'll just fly to Australia and buy a real CRD Renegade with a 6-speed manual tranny...the truck I wanted to buy here...in the States...where they MAKE the dang thing. But then, if I was going to do that, I'd probably opt to fly to Africa and buy a JK Unlimited CRD with 6-speed tranny instead. Ho hum...why does everyone else get the fun stuff to play with??? I wonder if a JK Unlimited is over Delta's checked-bag weight limit????? |

Okay, right after posting that, I had to check the parts manual again. It's not like I actually have WORK to do or anything. Anyway, there is only one metal fender listed, so that means the Rene, Sport, and Limited all have the same feneders. That's good. The hood, of course, is different. Renegade Hood - 55360667AC Series ‘M I can't find the stupid grill in the manual. Oh, I found it. They list it in the engine cooling section. Well, that makes perfect sense. Anyway, there are about 72 different numbers for the grille, and 7 specifically for the Rene. It's one of these... 5JR27AJCAD [JC] [MFK] M Series 5JR27WS2AD [S2] [MFK] M Series 5JR27BJTAD [JT] [MFK] M Series 5JR27CGVAD [GV] [MFK] M Series 5JR27DX8AD [X8] [MFK] M Series 5JR27WB7AD [B7] [MFK] M Series 5JR27WE5AD [E5] [MFK] M Series So a new grill would be needed, as well as a different grill opening reinforcement piece. 55156968AD M Series |

My KJ is an 03. The fender flares and grills are different on the newer KJs, can't remember the year model that introduces the new design. Either way, both with the original flares and current flares, the Renegade flares were different than the rest of the KJ line-up (having the bolt-on appearance). I'm originally from CT, but my last assignment was in Richmond, VA before I came to Germany. I taught ROTC at University of Richmond and lived in Short Pump. I wouldn't mind going back to the area, but doubt the Army will need me there again. Ivan. |

I'll post some pics of my KJ in everyone's favorite color (mud) this summer when my unit moves to Grafenwoehr. Supposedly there are lots of good trails there as well as in the box in Hohenfels. Thanks, Ivan. |
