This is my '02. Only mods so far have been to take stuff off - side steps, mud guards - things that hang down. Also, this is a spare set of steels for off-road, fitted with 235 70 16 Recip Trial muds (although the same size as my stock Wranglers, a full 1" bigger when I measured). And before you ask, the KJ is called Cherokee over here

The tyres are actually called Recip Trial - they're a copy of the Baja Claw I think. We don't have Mickey Thompsons over here, but these Recips were half the price of BFG ATs. A proper bargain, and they really work in the gooey sticky mud we had last weekend. And you can see they keep themselves pretty clean too. Although real Baja Claws would probably be even better |

Problem over here in the US is that they don't make the Baja Claws or Claw radials in any size smaller than 31x10.5", and that's only on a 15" rim. At least over there they must have different size options, probably more usable for the KJ. |

Ya, nice tires. And I agree with the post earlier on Mickey Thompson and on their limited size selection. |

Cool pictures. Looks like a fun outing. My brother has M/T Baja Claw Radials for his new Wrangler. I can't wait to see how they do offroad in Tennessee next month. I would love some of those on steel factory 16" x 7" steel wheels solely for offroading. Then some nice 235/70R16 Revo's for pavement, on aluminum wheels. I don't ask for much. |
