SWEET!

That's a heavily modified Jeep Commando, not a Commander. That model was only made from '71 to '72, it followed the '65 to '70 Jeepster Commando run.

EDIT - - BTW, those '71 to '72 Commando's didn't do so hot. Too many people thought they looked too much like the same era Broncos. The front end was squared off pretty much the same way.

That's an original, you can see how the front end looks similar to a Bronco. Just wasn't as popular as the Jeepster Commando. Can't give personal experience though, since I wasn't even alive then I just know a little bit about the history of it.

EDIT - - Heh, just checked all the photos. They call it a Commander in the photos but the whole article lables it correctly as a Commando. Guess the guy that put that on their website doesn't know Jeeps much.

That's was a build up done by Mount Logan Offroad. They are the local 4x4 shop here in Logan, Utah. For all you Jeep people, they are right acroosed the street from Novak Conversions. I was just in their shop today making an appointment to have my rear shock mounts repaired and my OME N132L put on. All of the shop guys stopped what they were do just to check out my Liberty. They loved your bumper Marty.

They are one of the best shops in the country but it's been like pulling teeth to get my truck in for a solid axle swap. I may end up just doing it myself.

If I remember right they called this Commando The Sunburst. This was a one off custom build of a 1972 Commando. The first time I saw it was when they were doing the chasis about 3 years ago. It is quite the rig. It rides on coils and long travel shock on all 4 corners. In real life it is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. I really like the Super Duty flares. I think they are a nice touch. I also love the the orange external roll cage.

I really liked the yellow so much on the Sunburst I decided to do my bumpers the same color.
