Fit in good or did you have to do anything to the tray? Got one waiting on me as soon I run up above Detroit to get it. :wink:

i have a blue top and it fits perfect. just drops right in and you just bolt it down with the factory battery hold down. ive an 06 might be different on other models.

i put a yellow top in the cj and it was too large for the tray in the liberty...

yes I know, everything is really dirty...

got the Optima at Auto Zone.... They installed it, and it fit right in... You don't have to buy a different battery tray or bracket to hold it down...

I got around to cleaning the engine compartment today... man that thing was dirty!!!

What did you clean the engine compartment with - it looks really tidy in there now

We got some expensive engine cleaner which takes care of oil etc. but costs $10 for half a quart...

Procedure would be: block off intake with plastic bag and elastics - water - engine cleaner - water

I used a citrus based engine cleaner,and followed the directions on the can, I think is was a Gunk brand. Afterwards I wiped down with armorall cleaning wipes...

I just sprayed my engine with plain water last week... after 1 hour, it dried, and it was like never washed! I really need engine cleaner to wash mine.
Did you spray gunk directly on surface? How about alternator area, cables, etc..?

Oh and I think you got a fake battery! It is die hard inside, with red top hat. :twisted:

just kidding, but why doesn't yours have "Model Number" and Blake's has it!?

Yeah I sprayed it over everything, I tried not to spray the alternator and electrical too much though

Mine does have a model number.......?????

Oh sorry pal, then it's Blake's that is fugazi! He doesn't have a model number, or maybe he cleaned it off because it was a bit off the box? and it bothered him?

Also, did you think about changing that negative connector? it looks rusted/burned, hence the starting problems?

Yeah my old batter was running at 10.2 AMPS so it was time to go

I brushed off the connector with a wire brush... I didn't think it looked too bad.....Should I get new connectors???

I am not sure, I just thought it looks bad. It may be functional.
My connectors need to be replaced, I got a very bad oxidation going on on my negative terminal, it is like a snowball!

I replaced my negative connector. It was oxidizing way too much, after I replaced it and cleaned it, it completely went away. Been 1-2 months and not one spec of acid. I'll try and snap a pic or two later.
