I do not understand. How does Mich. being a "No Fault State" mean she is off the hook and your insurance gets jacked? Was she at fault? Did she hit you?

In KY, we have no fault but only if BOTH cars are moved after the accident and before the police can get there to do their investigation.

I had an accident once in my old cherokee and the guy who hit me moved his truck out of traffic and I did not. Turns out his son was a cop and told him to do that and have me do the same. Say it was for safety and then the ins would kick in to No Fault. I refused to move my XJ so when the police got there they saw what happened and then told me how it works and where and why he wanted me to move mine.

I got pissed and the cop was pissed too. Almost cited him for tampering with an accident scene. But since there were no injuriers he really couldn't.

But anyway, WHY?

"no fault" insurance is exactly what it sounds like...your insurance takes care of your car, regardless of who's at fault. The only thing I didn't like about MI when I lived there.

That sucks, zuk! I don't know where in MI you are, but I'd recommend the CarStar in Zeeland if you're anywhere close to it....and I'd avoid Sharks, up chicago drive north of Zeeland

P.S. Are you thinking about getting a custom bumper? Will the insurance pay if you do? Just curious.
