Post subject:  More trimming, new angles

Awhile ago I posted pics of the aftermath of trimming the front flares, but never tested out the new approach angle. I recently trimmed the rear flares and took off my rear bumper completely. Today I went down the street to test out the approach and departure angles.

I see now I need to cut my front bumper a few inches and get rid of my hitch! I know all the cutting looks rough, but I like the cut 'n chopped look

some close ups of the rear please  I have been thinking about doing something to the rear bumper on mine and just need a straight on shot and some corner shots. Too lazy to pull mine off to do it. I sure would appreciate it when you have time . It can be just in the driveway

wow that looks really good with the cut flares.. almost like flat flares for the wranglers or older jeeps... the back bumper looks good not being there as well.. the liberty evolution continues! every day someone is doing something new to create a better looking.. more functional off-roader.

i agree!!! going up hills i've had my spare drag but never my back bumper.. now i always fold down the seats and hog tie it in the cargo compartment. plus i think it looks better without the spare on the back :) plus it makes for a great spot for my magnetic CB antenna. I made a bracket to bolt up where the tire-carrier goes so it doesnt get knocked off the roof by trees (i only put the CB in when on wheelin trips.. )

I would like to see a straight-on pic of the back as well. I may just rip mine off as well while I work on the rear fenders.

I will get more detailed pictures of the back side tomorrow when it's daylight.
I'm glad someone other than me likes it my trim job. I mean my friends like it but when everyone else on here has a Liberty it gets a little harder to please  I know it's original to this board at least 8)

BLAKE, You have to ask?????Peanut Butter of course !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No I took a piece of angle 1.5 X6 or 8 inches and mounted it behind the upper spare tire mount, then took some 1.5 or 2 inch flat stock I had laying around and made a L shape at one end, drilled and bolted that to the angle behind the tire and then bend the flat stock up over the tire. antennea is a mag mount, kept knocking it off the roof when out in the trees so this works pretty good, also can go into parking garages etc without too many problems. Now my secret is out and I can't make and sell any of them now!!

Second picture: to the right and below the tail light. Is that the vent from that connects to the vent on the inside? Below the light, what is that? On the other side it is empty.

Your right about the rear hitch. With that off and the space on top you would have an unbelievable departure angle.

Those are vents on both sides. They flap when you close the doors, so yeah they're connected to the vents inside the rear cargo area.
The thing on the passenger side is a wiring harness for the rear brake light housings.
