Post subject:  Please post pics of your jeep with a shovel mounted

I got stuck in some nasty mud last weekend, so I have decided to get a shovel and take it with me on trail rides. I would like to see some pictures of your jeeps with shovels, and how you have them mounted. And good tips on what shovel to get? Should I just hit wal-mart/harbor freight/home depot and get a basic shovel?

how does everyone mount their shovel to the roof rack?? Im wanting to do that to mine but i dont know how to add it

When I fabbed up my roof rack, I bought a few of these to mount my shovel axe and hi lift. They also hold my maglite, and a large one holds my CO2. They are sweet.

Please try and not laugh at my beautiful (first try) welds.

This is mounted to the roof rack with my old shovel I just replaced.

This is the super grip holding my CO2.

I bought the 2" grips for my axe and shovel and they work perfectly, I got the 2" for my jack as well, but I need 3", so I am going to order 2 new 3" mounts for my jack. Not sure how these would mount to some of the racks I've seen on here but "necessity is the mother of invention" as they say. Here is the link to where I got mine.

Hey, I recognize those pics. I have since replaced the old crusty shovel with a new one though. The new shovel I got is a Rigid brand and it is just a standard shovel from Home Depot, and I don't think anything more than that is needed. I didn't get a standard full length shovel, too long. My shovel is approx. 4 feet in length. The grips work great though. I mentioned in the previous post I was getting some new 3" grips for my jack, well they came in and are way too big so I went back to using 2" grips for my jack.
