Got any more/better pics of the interior without the carpet in it? I'd like to see what it really looks like to see if putting a bedlinber over it might be worth it. Thanks.

I was thinking....yes, there was smoke, but I dunked my head in a bucket of dry ice and..............made me smarter than before. So anyways, I see aliens now.

While you have all that ripped out, wouldn't that be a good time to run some cables through there to the back? If you have any thoughts of a future electrical mod in the rear, you should go ahead and run the cable back there. Have everything planned out and once you are ready to install the electrical device, the cable is there ready to go.

CB antenna wire, Subwoofer power and speaker wires, hitch connector wires, etc.....

well done cdiekhans, looks good as new. did removing and steam cleaning your carpet dissolve any bad or unwanted odors present in your Liberty??

for anyone interested in linex/herculining their interior, take a look at a post i made documenting my own experience. it might help you make a decision as to whether or not you want to herculine the interior of your own Liberty. for the record, i've gone three months and about 1,000 miles with my interior herculined and i couldn't be happier. it's holding up just fine, and it is incredibly easy to maintain. just vacuum up the loose dirt/grit and wipe it down with a wet rag and it's clean.

Thanks everyone (except TOM!!!)
I knew you guys would need more pics  ...

I was talking to Tom about line-xing the tub.....

For me, it's not practicle.... I drive a lot!... I drove without the carpet for 1000 miles... and It got so hot, I had to take off my shoes and put my feet up to the A/C.. It's probably 20x's hotter inside (without) the carpet....Very noisey... And I didn't like my floor mats sliding every which way....

YES, Bad odors went away! probably 98% of them...

YES, Ran my CB Coax through the provided wiring slots... Very easy to do..... There are rubber strips Underneath already provided that wires can be put into...

Seat covers came from http://www.seatglovers.com.... they're Neoprene....

Passenger side...
you can see the rubber strip where I ran the Coax cable through the middle..

Image

Drivers side/ wires...
(someone is going to comment on my lightbar switch) I was re-wiring it

Drivers side rear...

Rear where I ran Coax for CB...( the rubber strip pulls out...Insert wire... and push back through)

Thanks for the pics. I think there are just too many wires to move and hide if I were to line-ex the tub. Plus I had never thought of the heat problem or noise... my kj is pretty loud now anyway, so I don't know if I'd want it much louder.

I can see Chris now cruising down some back road with his feet up near the AC vents

There would be a lot of wires to move over / hide if you wanted to do it right.

was doing some research and found that completely replacing the carpet altogether really isn't as expensive as i thought. roughly $150 to $200 depending on where you look.

if anyone has a carpet that's beat to hell and is looking to completely replace it, you might wanna take a look at Auto Custom Carpets, as pointed out to me by Thunderbirdjunkie...

All these years I thought a LHD car had the accelerator on the left, its on the right!!!

Might sound silly, but if you guys put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car why wouldnt you swap the peddles as well.

Why, so the accelerator can hit up against the inner fender-wall? Oh, here's another one "At least we can use our turn signals while shifting because they're not operated with the same hand!" I found that out with my first rental car in Ireland...

Interesting you say that, yes the indicators. Here in Oz the indicators are on the RHS so you can change down & indicate with different hands.... Hey our accelerator is up against the inner fender wheel arch, always has been, hasnt caused too much problems. When I was in the UK I 1st experienced the indicators on the LHS, the car was RHD (like my Jeep) and the 1st time I turned the corner I went wound with the windscreen wipers on. Other ppl in the car were laughing, including my wife. I utterly hated it on the other side, when I saw the KJ with it like that I thought it was going to be a deal breaker for me & not purchase the car as it gave me flashbacks of when I was in the UK. Im glad I did buy it as it is a great little truck & now I have more great friends all over the world through the "Jeep Thing". Its true unless you have one you wouldnt understand.

Thread hijack off.
