245/70/16?

Will I be able to mount those on my stock height kj with no rubbing? Will they even look any different (given the very slight height difference)??

Should be able to fit w/o any rubbing issues.

yep can run them stock and yes they will look so much better than the stock junk ones

I don't want to scare you but the could be some slight, key word SLIGHT rubbing at fully lock only. I ran that size some Yokohama Geolander HTS's and it just barely rubbed. Not enough to worry about or to really notice. I am now on 245/75/16 with my OME lift and it rubs also at full lock. I just try not to full lock it and all is well

Oh and the 245/70/16s do look a LOT better than that stock crap. IMHO

I understand your KJ is 2002, so is Pre-Lowered and is 7/8" higher than 2003 and up

So you will have no rubbing at all

I run 245/70 16 General Grabber AT2s on an unlifted '07 Sport and there is only very slight rub at full lock when in reverse (like backing out of a precarious parking situation), but that is the only time I have noticed any rubbing at all. They look much better and the Grabbers perform very well for what I use them for. A more aggressive MT may yield slightly different results.

I had the same situation as those above. I put on 245/70R16 Destination A/Ts before I lifted and did get a fair amount of rubbing at full lock, and still slight rubbing after I lifted. I put Spidertrax wheel spacers on and the problem was solved.

Cobolt-60, do you have pics of your ride before and after the lift with the 245/70R16 destination ATs? I'm thinking about putting the ATs on my KJ but think they might be a little small with a lift.

I installed the 245/70/16 destination ATs and they rubbed at full lock under certain situations only...but slightly... no lift for me.. I have had no real problems even wheeling with them... Honestly, the only time I have noticed any rubbing is at full lock in reverse... never going forward... well except for when I was going over that one big rock that somebody left in the middle of the trail... :oops:

Full lock refers to when the steering wheel is turned all the way in either direction.

I have these in a 245/70/16 on my 04 (not sport or reneg) and have never had a problem with rubbing at all. Plus they have tread to the edges so they grip rocks like mad. I love these tires. They're quiet on the road too:

Do you guys find that when in "full lock" it does not return automatically? I need to turn it back a bit when it is that far, then it comes back.

I think you'l find that this is the case with most if not every vehicle.

You should NEVER turn one that far anyways, hard on the PS pump, you should know after 5 minutes of driving how many turns it is to full lock but people still crank it over all the way anyways. I hate to hear that noise when people are parking etc. What idiots :shock:

I have 245/75/16 's on mine and only get minor rub on the pinch weld and @ the fog light covers, ONLY at full lock.

ObiHann, I have a nearly all-stock, non-lifted 2002 Liberty Limited 4x4 just like you, and I'm sitting on 245/70/16 Michelin LTX tires with plenty of clearance between the wheel flares with no rubbing at all. Here's what my set-up looks like. You should be just fine getting tires that size.
