Whats up ya'll, Well my tailamps arrived today which I bought off ebay for $60.00. It stated they were OEM Jeep products. When then arrived I picked them up and they were WAAAAAY lighter than I expected... THEY WERE PLASTIC ! Ok so my question to all of ya'll that have these is: Are the OEM light guards plastic? Where did you purchased yours (Or did they come with it when you bought your car at the dealer?) Honestly after installing them... plastic or not they look good...
Let me know what you think... |

I don't slur my racial comments...I'm very eloquent and well-spoken!! I wonder if any sort of taillight guard would've helped my situation when i busted a lense. |

yes, but i do not hold it against you, b/c not very many people actually know the term. No worries, just be more aware next time. |

Yea, the Mopar taillight guards are plastic. I searched for taillight guards shortly after I got the KJ and found that all taillight guards are plastic except Manik (http://www.manik.com/). After seeing the cost of the Manik metal taillight guards, I decided that I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. But they DO look good. |

I had the OEM plastic ones on my KJ when my wife was driving it and backed into a civic. All it did was snap in pieces and scratch the guy's civic. My rear light didn't break though, but the bumper took the brunt of the force to begin with. I am pissed though because the guards were glued in place on mine so when I pulled the rest of the broken one off and the other whole one, little chunks of my tail lights came off with the guards and some of the guards were left on the lights. |
