Hey all, good to see the L.O.S.T. Libertys still kickin..

Some may remember me, I had a 2002 Jeep Liberty that I bought May 28th 2001..
put a lift kit, tires, rock rails, and skids on it and took it to Moab..
First time I took it to Moab was August 2001..
Even led a group on the Hole in the Rock trail in May '04..
Probably the first Libertys there..

Here is a write up of that trail adventure:
http://www.holeintherock.4t.com

videos at: http://www.youtube.com/user/deserthorizons
video of the pic below in action there also..

This was my Liberty:

Anyway, I now have a new vehicle
and thought some might be interested..
I have just started the modding process..
first thing I did was put larger tires on it.. (go figure..)
255/70/17 BFGoodrich
It probably won't go as many places as the Liberty did,
but I will look good going..
.
.
.
(and it is still a Chrysler product..
but I got tired of waiting for Jeep to make a good looking vehicle..)

A good looking Jeep??? Never thought of a Jeep as good looking. I just sold a '99 TJ and a '04 Crossfire and bought a '09 JK... go figure.

Nice Challenger. :D

Just like when they first started selling the Liberty, people would bit*h
about the lack of tire choices available because of the 16" wheel..

These Challengers run a 17" which severly limits my tire choices,
because it had to have White Letters on them..

the BFG Long Trail was the ONLY 17" tire with OWL that came in BOTH sizes I wanted..
a 31 x 10.25 in back and a 28.5 x 9 in front..

That would have been my first choice also, but they only make UP to a 16" tire..

Have fun with your ABS in panic stops with the staggered heights

And IIRC, the speed ratings in those two sizes are different on those tires...225/65 front and 255/65 rear I take it?

Car looks good with the white letters...and the Long Trails are definitely a huge improvement over the crap Goodyears that come on the car from the factory

No ABS on this,, it is the base model SE..

the tires are 225/65 front & 255/70 rear
.....= 28.5"x9" front, and 31"x10.25" rear..

it came stock with 215/65/17
...= 28"x8" good4ayear

----------------
Well I have had the tires on for 2 weeks now,
Tires make no noise, handle great, and look good..
That;s all I wanted them to do..
