My '02 Limited (Build date 9/01). KJ mods to date include;
Armor: Skidrow engine & tranny skids, Kilby Tank Skid, (Mopar front skid)
Tires: BFG AT ko LT255/70R/16 on stock Limited Wheels.
Differentials / Lockers: DTT in D30a / PowerTrax.No-Slip in Chrysler 8.25
Poison Spyder Rock Ring on 8.25 differential.
Recovery: Mopar tow hooks in front -- Hidden Hitch (rear) w/ Shackle.
Suspension / Steering: Stock w/ Moog ball joints.
Flowmaster Super 44 Offroad Muffler (w/ new muffler flange Dynomax p/n 51002).

Not really mods but additional stuff includes;
Brakes: Fremax rotors (XB51456) w/ Wagner Thermo Quite ceramic pads.
Rear- Wagner Drums & Premium shoes.
Electronics: Cobra 75 WXST (tuned & peaked), Firestik SS204A door jamb mount (w/ P259 connector), Firestik FL4B ( 4' ft) antenna.
Engine: Amsoil EAA201 drop-in air filter.
Denso Iridium Plugs.
Goodyear Gatorback Belt & tensioner assy.
Castrol full synthetic oil (I'm told this KJ has only run on full syn since day 1).
Castrol ATF+4 trans fluid.
Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110 synthetic (in both diffs).
C-cell Maglite w/ "Jeep" logo
Kidde ABC Fire extingushier
Rain-X Wiper blades
Wagner "Tru-View" headlights (zero glare with longer visability at night).
RRO spare tire extender.*

Work, add-on's & Mods to-do list:
Drop exhaust to fix pinhole leak on y-pipe and install Flowmaster 44 OR mufffler, then install both Skidrow skid plates.
Fab 2 tab KC lite bar (TJ model) to fit KJ front bumper, then install 6" KC slimlites.

To buy list:
Rock Lizard SuperSkinks (99% sure because I really like the look).
Lift it. Most likely a Frankenlift (OME / Rancho) kit.
BlackRock 16" rims (soft 8 style) on Goodyear MT/R's w/Kevlar.
Smoked front t/s lens.
Husky floor mats / liners front & rear.
Rock Lizard Sport Rack (I want to weld the *RRO spare tire extender to the rack).

That is the theme to my jeep, i wouldn't have it any other way! Oddball, from one black kj owner to another, blacked out tails with the turn signals like you were talking about is a great combo, i can post some pics on mine if you'd like to see.

I think you might be confused? I am leaving the stock tail lights in. I've seen what you're talking about and I don't like them. I do however think the clear front t/s's look great on a black KJ, and although I've never seen the smoked lens in person, I'm thinking they too would look great.

The smoked t/s look really good on black KJs, especially the Limited/Renegade models.
