Moved my lights from up by the windshield down to the bumper. I would have had to take the bumper/hooks off to place them where I wanted them, so I improvised.

Finished product.

Nice idea...might want to put a metal plate back there to spread out the force...I might try this method on mine...

did that already... doesnt work. the grill is not stong engough, the lights will flap around in the wind or while going over bumps. the problem is that the grill area flexs with the additonal weight. i actually moved mine to the bumper and it works great!

you will also having them on the grill makes them impossible to properly aim. thats the biggest problem i had.

Went for a spin when I finished. Didn't bounce and aim was good.

cool idea, whatever works for you. If you were going to drill a hole in the grill why not drill a hole in the bumper? You dont have to remove the bumper to put lights on it.

Okay I agree that's a nice quick idea for a mounting location for your Hella's,
but I also have to agree that there's not much holding them on.

I have a similar setup but chose to mount an aluminum bar by passing bolts right through the grille slots to a backing plate. Then mounting my Hella 700FF's on it.

I've found that in this position my lamps were too low and I had to move them up. Didn't you find that your lamps were too low where you have them mounted?
