Post subject:  Nicolet National Forest-The last hoorah of fall *NEW PHOTOS*

Hey everybody! I just wanted to share some images from last weekends excursion up to the northwoods of Wisconsin. Some beautiful colors left in the trees, great weather (albeit the cold nights), flawless performance from the Jeep, and a great traveling companion made for an excellent time getting away from it all. Enjoy the photos! I do have plenty more waiting to be edited so let me know if you would like to see more! :D

Thank you very much! :D

Aaaahh, yes. I knew someone would ask about the "scope stick" aka "the tick stick"...

It all goes back to around May. A few buddies and I went up to Nicolet and the Menominee Nation to do some white water rafting on the Wolf River. One GREAT night in the woods (fueled by a magic potion of sorts 8) ) and an adrenaline packed fantastic day down the river (which happened to be my birthday) encouraged the collection of one memento, a stick that we had used as a fire poker that happened to have a scope-like hole on one end. A bit weird, I know.

Did you raft with Shotgun Eddie's? I did a trip in the Wolf River with them in '07 - really, really wanna go back... that was a blast! 8)

It was Shotgun Eddie's! Right on the Indian land...the only place that will send you down class III/IV whitewater with only a life preserver and tell you to watch for the beer stands along the river. LOL Great, great time and adrenaline pumping experience (especially at 600+ cfs)! We should plan a multi-day Nicolet run next year with a WW rafting day!

67Customs - Thank you very much my friend :D

wheeee32 - Thank you kindly! :D I shoot with a Canon 40d. Most of those shots were taken with Tamron's 18-250 DI-II 3.5-6.3 or Canon's 50mm 1.8.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. :D If I recall, they were pretty cheap cost-wise... another appeal. I'd love to go back and do it again.

Awesome :D I do believe it was 30 to run section 3 of the Wolf...so not too bad. Sounds like an excellent addition to a Nicolet adventure!

Thank you very much :D It is greatly appreciated! That is the exact reason for my love affair with Jeeps as well for the last 4 years. A main goal of my work, the nature shots in particular, is to invoke those emotions that you have! Thank you again :D
