Where did you find that fella? Down Tucson way?

The only cool things I've seen in my 5 years living in AZ is a tarantula and Roland and I saw a rattlesnake at Bulldog Canyon the day before FITS. I know there is a lot of other cool critters out there, but they are dam good at hiding.

You need to go out at first light and just before dark. I saw a badger in NM one early morning. I thought I was seeing things! Badgers in New Mexico? I checked on the net and sure enough there are badgers in every county in the state!! During those two time periods I have seen dozens of different critters in the desert areas.

You're a little farther north than my ex Mom-in-law, who lives in Sierra Vista, but there was PLENTY to see down there! I am terribly afraid of arachnids--like irrationally afraid & can't even watch one on TV. When it rains hard in Sierra Vista, it drives the tarantulas off the mountains and they come rolling down like tumbleweeds. It is the grossest thing I have ever seen.

She's also had problems with horned toads, rattlesnakes, and deer going over the adobe walls in their backyard & ending up trapped in the yard. I love the terrain & I love the desert, but I could never live there for fear of critters. I hated having to check the bed before I climbed in, check my shoes before I put them on, and look all over the inside of the car before getting in.

Yep west is best! You can find critters if you have a keen eye and the scenery is beautiful.

Actually Tim, I found him on he south side of the river from the Coke Ovens just east of Cocharan while driving down a wash with my cousin and dad this last weekend. Right now is a good time because it isn't that hot out. We saw a rattler on a hike the other day too.
