Crashed in October

Repaired in November

Been back to the body shop twice for a few minor problems (poor hood fit, headlights misaligned, fog light not working), but they were happy put things right.

I'm loving the look of the new DuraTracs! I'm surprised at how much clearance I have in the front wheelwells with 30.5" tires. No rubbing whatsoever with an unmodified (no strut plates or spring isolators added) Old Man Emu suspension. I kept one of my old General Grabber AT2's for the spare and let the shop have the unused Wrangler ST. The C-rated DuraTracs ride softer at 35 psi than my E-rated Generals at 32 psi. Didn't drive much with new tires today so I can't say anything else about them other than they added .5 inch of ground clearance, have made the pavement ride less jarring, and don't seem any louder (or quieter) than the Generals.
It feels good to be back in my KJ after three weeks!

i kind of like the look of the October version...
but the November one with its OME is great,,,,can't wait to have mine Frankenlifted... :frankie:

Don't have the list of replacement parts in front of me now, but it's a long one. Mostly salvage and CAPA-certified aftermarket parts were used in the rebuild, which ran over $5K, including hood, quarter panel, fender flare, wheelwell lining, wiring harness for headlights, air intake tube (but not airbox), grill, headlights, and possibly radiator. There was a lot of shop time and labor cost, plus sealants, rustproofing, and paint, which also added significantly to the bill. Originally I was willing to pay the difference out of pocket for an ARB or Rock Lizard front bumper but couldn't find a used one locally to keep the price within budget after buying new tires.

thats scary... if you had to take it back for those little things i wonder how much they didnt do under the paint/body. Hope your unibody is straight and all the bolts are there. I've worked in my fathers body shop for the last 11 years and we would never..EVER... let a vehicle leave the shop with those issue. Look under your hood and see if the bolts for the top of the fender and bolts that hold the hood on are brush touched.. if they are you might be ok

if not.. next time you should find a better shop that pays more attention to detail.

Actually, I have a fontal photo that looks like the Terminator after he's been hit in face.

FWIW, I was back in that body shop today because they had to reinstall a check valve on the windshield washer line for the hood nozzles. Turns out it was installed backward. :shock:

The project manager admitted it was a quality control problem. I will take my business elsewhere should the need arise. Too much falling through the cracks there.

too bad you arent closer to PA i'd hook ya up! just do your research.. body shops can be sneaky!
