Haven't posted or mentioned much of what's gone on with my KJ for the past few months or so: Debadged using fishing line and "Oops/Lighter Fluid" the Liberty's and moved the drivers side renny badge to match the pass. side: ![]() ![]() My TrailReady rock rails came in a week or so before I moved to IL, started putting them on in the rain at my house.. got really sick of that plus got sick of fumbling around with one jack .. I couldn't remember where I put my key to the shop.. so I ended up rolling to NC Transmissions and More the next day and my bud Dan hooked me up with some assistance ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() still have some minor additions to the front footing at the chassis simply for future adaptation/modification reasons on something else, but rail strength wise, theyll fully support the vehicle weight plus some at any point of the assembly - tested them for twist proofness with a 3 foot drop from a hoist onto a 4 inch jackpad, very minor dimple from the jackpad - needless to say, I have no questions about their quality I waxed it till sunlight caused gradient rainbows of sorts.. ![]() Stripped my old LOST light covers, the junk clear coat I had used on them had yellowed and started peeling like a bad sun burn Fixed up my second set of covers with the other set of decals i got from Don at Pixeldecals when I got the first set of LOST decals: ![]() Used the right clear coat this time along with an adhesion promoter, figured out that bulldog adhesion promoter.. not good for decals! Almost botched the application, it seemed like it was able to go through the vinyl, I rescued it however, finished with a few more coats of clear coat, then forgot to cure them the next day.. had to break out the automotive clear coat and brush it on to fill in the imperfections, it smoothed out fine and cured perfect ![]() Went and saw Chip (boiler) last Sunday, almost didn't recognize him he had his Halloween costume on, Picked up the rack I had him build and we put it on Haven't had the chance or lighting to take some good pictures of it yet, but he did a great job, especially with the additions I asked him to make to it also picked up something else from him but we'll see when they get put on About all I have of the rack so far is some UFO sighting photos Stingn took earlier today ![]() ![]() When I get some more detailed pics of the rack they'll be in boilers thread |

Got my rack from Chip (Boiler) about a week ago and couldn't be happier with it's construction and fit I'll tag up some better outdoor photos when I can: I ordered the rack with front and rear cross rails, satin powdercoat Four tabs in the rear, 3 tabs in the front, a frontal mount for antenna or flag, and a centered aux mount for either spare tire carrier or other fixture or antenna. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The clearances between the footers and the doors was perfect and even all the way around, I'll get a better outdoors and lit, elevated side shot for ya |

I really love that boiler rack. Pretty much exactly what I wanted to order but only had the funds for a surco. While I absolutely LOVE my surco, I just love how this one is built exactly for out jeeps and no having to line it up on the rails just right. Looks great! |
