Well my wife wanted a brush guard for the font of her kj, mainly for mounting her off-road lights on. I checked on just about all of the different brands available and didn't really like the looks of any of them except for the Westin. The Westin just follows the lines of the liberty well and had rounded headlight guards (like the headlights) and not squared off ones like the others. So I ordered (and paid for) the Westin at 3 different places that said they had stock on them only to get refunded my money time and time again saying that the guard has been discontinued by Westin (Westin confirmed that they will not be making any more). Then I found a company on Ebay that had one picture a lot like the Westin (rounded headlight guards) but when I got it it looked nothing like the Westin  After trying to get my money back to no avail I just said the heck with it and installed it...and hated it:

here is what It looked like:

The main thing that I hate about it is how high the center bar (with the lights on it) is so I got to thinking about it the other day and decided to modify it. I flipped and reversed the brackets, drilled a couple new holes and viola I think it does look better (even though I don't have the headlight guards) It will work until I can find a used Westin somewhere.

The One DeeZee Makes has a picture where the HeadLight Surrounds are Square but they are Round..... That Said WOW I wish I had of done that when I had a brush guard on.

Looks really good, but it looks like it hangs low.

My Biggest issue was that it caused 2000$ of damage to my Libby, in a minor car crash, It folded up taking out my Bumper,Inner Bumper,Driver side fender, Hood, and pushing my Rad support back.

yeah it does hang a little low but the only offroading that this kj sees is the beaches of Corova and Hatteras.

It looks better but not as good as the white one with the ARB next to it. still a big improvement

how come you just dont mount her off road lights to the bumper?? why a whole brush guard for just two lights? especially if shes only seeing beach driving? just curious....love the two jeeps btw. I feel like I've seen several threads with the OR lights mounted directly to the flat on the bumper.

I thought about that as well (as a matter of fact I did that on my 02 Sport):

When I said that it was mainly to mount lights on I meant that I wasn't really getting it for front end protection. The real reasoning was aesthetics as well as a mounting point for lights.
