Well I thought I read to much and post too little so... here are some pics of stock standard KJ's doing a trail here in Cape Town South Africa called 2 oceans - helderberg farm. We where 2 KJ's and a Toyota hilux- The gradings are from 2-4 and the KJ's did all of them quite easily. 1 spot we had some wheel slippages but a reverse with a different line did the trick. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDVtC-qW ... 9J0LyU4E0Z http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8H_y_-b ... oUiksO1T5I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxKLOrhg ... b5rj1b79v2 My mate's KJ is a 2001 Sport edition and mine is a 2004 Extreme Sport edition. Both are 3.7l V6's In South Africa the Liberty is called the Cherokee. You will see they are right hand drive. it's kinda strange as the 4wd selector and bonnet release lever is still in the same position as where they are on the left hand drive versions. Pics of the interior - Here only the Extreme Sport versions come with 2tone Cloth leather and as far as I know the White dails with silver trim around them. ![]() ![]() Pic of the Cherokee Extreme Sport Edition badge. ![]() and a pic when clean

Great photos and good looking "Cherokees" Thanks for sharing them now send some more I saw one Cherokee (KJ) last time I was in Tanzania and thought it was weird that the transfer case selector was in the same position , just looked out of place But looks like you had a great time |

I always thought it would be starnge to drive on the " other side " of the road But driving a LC my first trip To Tanzania it was like I had always done it, I never really noticed the difference at all. Now wiper / turn signal controls, shifting with my left hand really messed with me but otherwise not bad at all. |

that looks like a blast! great scenery too. The seats in that 'extreme' are the best seats i've seen in a KJ. |

If jeep would've put together a KJ with the 05/06 renegade hood.. the seats from the original poster... and a CRD with a 6 speed it would be the ultimate KJ!!!! |

Thanks for the comments guys. So you guys don't get this version at all in the states? I LOVE what you guys get over there in terms of upgrade options (aftermarket) for your KJ's. Here you can get KJ stuff but although it's quite popular in the coastal regions you do not see many of them on trails etc. The Wrangler is MUCH more popular here for the 4x4 stuff. But guys are very suprised to see what a KJ can do. it's a bit underated as a 4x4. So yeah, we are a bit limited with options. i would probly go th import route as i think it's time for a bit of addons. I would like to add 2" lift, 245/70/16 tires instead of the 235/70/16's it has now, a snorkel and a nice bullbar for the KJ and then I have an idea to make Jerry Can holders for the roof rails. Over here the most popular 4x4's are the Mazda Drifters (Also rebadged as a Ford Ranger), Nissan pathfinder, Hardbody and Navara and then Toyota is massive here. Toyota prado, land Cruiser and your Toyota Hilux "Bakkies" - you call them trucks We also get the Renegade here and it's called the Red River edition. it's lifted, has rock sliders and then the rest looks like the Limmited edition except that it has red accents inside. I have seen you guys post a Renegade Colarado? Edition? I think they would be the same. I thought i'd post my Jeep's dials as well for you guys to see. Might also be slightly different? ![]() This is a pic from a locally sold Renegade dails - This is not the Red River Edition though. The Renegade Red River looks different outside and has black enterior inside with red accents. ![]() As you can see the Revcounter is on the other side compared to mine Here is it's interior ![]() and exterior ![]() yellocoyote wrote: I especially love those photos where you can see the ocean yeah it's a spectacualr view from up there. The area is called 2 Oceans as you can see the Atlantic and the Indian ocean from the top of the trail. There should be some more pics and a video or two from the other guy - if there is anything worth posting I will add again if you guys want to see. |

Havok, your RSA KJ look reasonably similar spec to our UK KJ. I have see the odd one in the UK Special or Exclusive Edition, very nice interior definately 1000% better than the Sport Fil. |

Pippobug Yeah I also like the 2 tone thing Before I bought mine I test drove quite a few and found one with a almost White Leather interior - it was a CRD. I think most cars from UK and RSA have simmialr spec. When I watch Top Gear/ Fifth Gear most cars are the same spec levels. Only you guys call it Vauxhaul Astra we call it Opel Astra for instance teckman02 Interesting look to that Exclusive Edition one. I read a local article where it stated that there where only 150 Black and a 150 Silver Extreme Sport Editions shiped here. no other color either in Extreme Sport Editions available. There is a lot of CRD's here. I would say 50/50 or maybe even 60% CRD's The KK seem to be doing ok, seen a few ones drive around here but never found one off-road before. |

It's funny that you mention that - we just finished watching the "Long Way Down" series (Ewan McGregor/Charley Boorman). They ended in Cape Town, but before arriving there they drove to the southern most point of Africa... where you could stand on the borders of the oceans. Super cool! Yup very cool there. Cape point. You can literally see a kindof line where the oceans meet most days. The calmer greener Indian ocean on the east with the blue choppier atlantic. Very cool place to be. |
