What do I need to watch out for on this model?? And is $2900 to much? Body is straight with some scratches here and there, automatic & 4wd, newer tires, very clean interior. The only bad thing with it is it needs a new radio. Thanks. Matt |

how many miles does it have? as long as theres not a huge amount, those 4.0 inline 6's run forever if taken care of. also check the rocker panels for rust, its very common for those to rust out. a radio is a pretty cheap fix i wouldnt worry about that. after that all you have to worry about is how your gonna lift it |

Good year. IIRC the Country edition should already have slightly firmer, taller springs from the factory. the price sounds reasonable if you don't find anything wrong w/ it and the mileage isn't already at 300K. XJ's (if not all rusted out) are usually great vehicles to start a serious build from. They have great drivetrains, are super easy to modify and parts are plentiful and often cheap if you shop used. I still love my XJ so much that I can't bear to part w/ it. I suspect I never will. |
