Hey guys, Man I thought I was going to have all kinds of time off after leaving SoCal but with all the Jeep Jamboree stuff and another project I have been working on...It seems I have been doing nothign but working my butt off. I have been working on a mapping project for the BLM and State Forest Service for a while now and just thought I would start sharing a few pictures. Believe me it is very hard work... I do have to go off-roading about 22 days out of the month but I am having a blast.

We use UTMs for cords and that really works out great. Hope you guys enjoy the picks and I will start posting more often. Later...Clint

Don't see any in very south AZ. Let me know when your work brings you this far. Lucky guy, other than having to be away from home so much, get to wheel and see great scenery around the state.

Does your Lowrance give you UTM or do you use something else? One of my best freinds does plotting for our job and has this thing that looks like the scanners the UPS man uses. Very confusing looking toy.

Mike, most good GPS units can be set to display whatever unit of measure you want. My Garmin GPS V has 31 different modes for position, including UTM. Now the newer units like the Garmin Streetpilots I don't think give you any options as to what the location is displayed in, but they are designed primarily for people who only want to know when to make a turn on the right street to get to the airport (or wherever they're going).

Oh and Clint, if ya ever need help on that just give me the word! :D :D :D

Yep, Very cool job for sure. I use the Lowrance all the time to keep track of my routes and use UTM onthat as well... But we use a Trimble unit to log all the info. Not only does it keep track of the cords but all kinds of things like trail conditions, alt, all kinds of info. Very cool stuff for sure. Very hard work for sure and the Jeep really gets a work out. I have been doing this starting back in Apr and I can not even tell you how many off-road miles I have logged. But someone has to do it Right. Later...Clint

Looks like a fun "Job" Clint. Now go get a rear bumper!

I am pretty sure Clint wouldn't mess w/ the tortoise, he knows better....those things bite hard. :shock: I know because I adopted one and she loves fingers and toes.

I had asked about getting a "sticky" for trails but it went nowhere. It would be nice to have one place on here to get trail info. Just like the trails you found. Web addresses for off road parks etc. Trying to find trail info. or anything at all with our search function is a waste of time.

Stupid rear bumper...Man I need a good ZJ rear bumper for dang sure. I have a great front bumper but I think I might have to build the rear one myself. I have lots of other plans as well for all kinds of other mods coming soon just need the time to get some things do other than wheeling every day. Stupid job. Had another great time today and found some very good tough trails that would be great for a KJ run up in the Poachie Mountains about 60 miles from Kingman. No messes with the wildlife but love to see it and take a few pictures. I see and take lots of pictures of all kinds of wildlife. Later...Clint

Modded it myself. I got tired of climbing up on the roof with out it. The cool thing is now I can climb up easy for an old guy and use the roof rack as a great place to get a better view of the trails. Later...Clint

The Poachie Mountains have been a great time but I am going to get a couple of weeks off. Man I need it bad. I think my daughter and I are going to go to Moab for a week to get a break. Dang her... I really did not want to go to Moab but some times you just have to do the family thing. Later...Clint

More outstanding trails...And I have a very good one picked out for a run. It runs by a very cool mine with some great climbs and long downhills. Lots of rocks and cool things to see. Maybe a great trail for the AZ club to do next year with a very nice camp ground close by right on the river. The camp ground is right below the bridge picture off the dirt road. We would also get to see the cool cabin called RockHouse Cabin in earlier pictures and some coool mine shafts. Believe me...I am keeping track of some very cool plaqces to hold some evetns. Yep Shanna picked up a very cool Willy's TJ but still has the XJ as well. My wife only lets me drive the red Rubi every now and then. Stupid Rubicon... We are starting a Jeep garden up in No AZ and they seem to grow well up here. Later...Clint
